I've bought it from an another pilot.

Before i flew an Compass Atom 500 .. but i smashed it too hard into the ground.. totall loss, so now i have a beautifull goblin that was on my wishlist

I'm going to strip it down complety and do a full rebuild to make shure everything is fine.

Setup:

YGE 90 LV
Mini V-Bar
2x 6S 5200 Desire power Lipo's.
3x HBS 660 Servo
1X HBS 770 ( tail ) Servo
1x Futaba R2008SB receiver

Nice, welcome to the club. This won't be your last gobi, trust me

Good point on the rebuild, although it requires little maintenance

Just finished building my Goblin 500. Still need to get a flybarless unit and do the wiring, and get a pack or two. Because I can't afford a beast setup right now, currently its running:
  • Flight Style: Sport / Smooth 3D
  • Motor: Quantum 4120 - 1200KV
  • Pulley: 18T (Might go 17T)
  • Target Headspeed(s): 2500-2800
  • ESC: Talon 90
  • Cyclic Servos: Align DS515M
  • Tail Servo: Align DS655
  • Main Blades: SAB 500mm
  • Tail Blades: SAB 80mm

Exactly my setup (with a mini vbar) and it flies like a charm. Although i can imagine that you will notice the difference with, let's say, bk servos.
With those headspeeds you need the 18t pinion i think. I think the max with the 17t is around 2400rpm

I had the DS655 on mine, but it stopped working after 30+ flights. Could of been because the Vbar was set for 760 for a few seconds lol! The servo I have on the tail now is a monster if your still using LV http://www.amain.com/mks-bls990-brus...m-case/p207989

Just a short question,

witch blades are a good alternative for the SAB blades for the goblin 500?
Now i've the SAB yellow blades on the kit, but they are damaged and here in europe i can't find the right SAB blades in shops. Everywhere sold out.

yes it was good to do the rebuild, all bearings where damaged so i had to order all new bearings.
And the machine was really dirty.. a lot of grease and sand on the aluminium parts.

So i did a good cleanup and now waiting for the new bearrings.

If you can find them the Rail 516's are great on the G500, the Rototech 515 should be very similar as another option. If you go with these slightly bigger blades you can drop you headspeeds by 50rpm and have the same collective pop.

Thanks dennis,

they are al little bigger than the stock 500mm blades, but it's only 1.6cm .. so i think the tail blades can be the same size like the stock one's.

i'll have a look if i can find those rail blades around here.

I use the KBDD 84.5mm on my G500, they have a bit more bite than the stock 80mm.

Okey,

i've found the Rail blades in Germany, so that's nice.

Is there a reason why SAB blades are hard to get at the moment?

Yep, but the Edge 100 has one that is hardy from everything I've read.

I would get a scorpion bug for that! They are cheap at $25 and are totally independent of you system. It has it's own batteries and just sits back checking your bec volts. If it falls below 4.8V it kicks in. The Edge 100 has a 10 amp bec at 11V it drops to almost 5 amps when used with 22V.
