I don't think you can speak of "going safe with the HW 100 V3" or with any other brand ESC because it can also fail. It's really a matter of luck to, hoping that your ESC doesn’t have a weak spot during build. As I mentioned earlier the story of the YGE 90lv V2 that exploded when the guy connected the battery. It remains a piece of electronics where incredible amounts of amps must go through and it is a relatively small and lightweight electric device, it's a recepi for failure if its not well made and tested. And of course I hope your ESC is doing well! But let's not worry to much and use a ESC which feels for you good to use and have fun flying it. In the beginning I had my doubts about the Talon but I did some heavy testing with it now and it's working great so far, the gov does a good job and the bec voltage is stable at 6v. So I try not to worry to much and fly the Talon just like all others ho hase a Talon, and there ar a lot of them (fingers crossed)

We would need to know what motor you have to make a recommendation for settings. You can also check with the motor manufacturer for recommendations.

Not sure what motor you are using. I'm running a quantum 4120-1200 and the default esc settings work good (pwm=32kHz timing=15*).

Are you using the governor in the HW or FBL?

We've all been there.

Those settings will be just fine with the ikon gov.

Well, maiden will be happening on the next off day so long as it doesn't rain.

You guys are awesome and thanks for the help. I just totally redid the head on my G500 cause I didnt know how to fix the binding and my collective and cyclics kept coming up different at max throw after I leveled the swash. Everything is silent now and got even 12 on collective and maxed cyclic til it touched the top of the anti rotation guide then backed off a lil.

Wish me luck!

FYI, you don't need to set the cyclic limits based on where it binds. You will never use that much throw. It's easier, and perhaps a bit safer, to set it to about 9-10° and check for binding after.

Hmm. May go back and reduce that then. I was just going off the ikon manual directions.

Thanks again.

Oops, I didn't mean to make you stress over it. You can leave it where it is as long as it isn't binding. It will only use as much cyclic as it needs to achieve the desired roll rate. I was just saying that for future reference.

Can i use the cyclic ring settings to leave the throws where they are while limiting usage to 10 degrees?

I guess I don't see the harm in that, but it seems a little convoluted. I just use this:

Exceeding 10 degrees will buy you a nice boom strike most likely. You might want start a new thread instead of discussing it in this ESC thread since this is an unrelated subject.

Is this working well for everyone? After having my 50a version I'm leaning towards this on my g500 with bk minis and pyro 600-11. At $65 it's a steal.

Jay, I don't fly anything close to you but it is holding for me. I have it set at 6v running MKS all around and scorpion.
