Default Using stand alone sats instead of rx

I cannot get a power up light on sat. I have binded them on a separate rx. I have no idea what's going on. Any help on this? Am I missing something. I was flying using the rx with no problems. I just wanted to use gov on the robird.

Did you switch the receiver in Tab 0? It should be dsm1024 for a dsm2 sat and dsm2048 for a dsmx sat.

So you have sat plugged into the srx adaptor with one end going to the srx1 port and the other to srx2?

Are the connectors oriented correctly in their slots in the Robird?

(signal at the top?)

I had to re-bind some of my sats a couple of times before the binding would "stick" or so it seemed. Don't recall what the issue was, just remember running back and forth for the 6200. When I did my 450 I didn't have as many issues. Are they real spek sats or another brand?

Can you show us a picture of your wiring, or maybe a diagram?

Also, where in TN are you? If you happen to be near Memphis, you can come out to the field this weekend and I will help.

Can't see the top of the Satellites, are they DSM2 or DSMX?

What did you use to bind them? What model RX? Did you bind them separately (one at a time) or the same time (depends on RX model too).

The wiring looks correct from here, if the satellites are bound, and the RX is set appropriately in the Robird software, you should be getting a signal.

Have them bound to a ar7000 spektrum dsm2 rx binding one at a time. Robird is set to dsm1024. Have tried ar7200bx as well. Setting in transmitter also matches

So if you switch the sats back to ar7000 and using the same model on your TX you want to use the robird with they are still bound?

Just something I've found - you cannot use the Rx on a different model. So if you have the Rx bound to a different model in your TX, the sats cannot be bound to a another separate model. Its a 'gotcha' that I didn't realize.

Not quite sure that I am understanding you here.

If you hare a receiver with satellites and you bind it to one model, the later decide to swap either the both the receiver and satellite(s) to another model, or put the satellite(s) on another receiver, you can still bind them to the new model. There us no limitation regarding how many times or which different models you can bind the receiver or satellites to.

I have done this many times.

What you should not do, is mix DSM2 receivers and satellites with DSMX receivers and satellites (a DSM2 receiver should always be used in conjunction with a DSM2 satellite and a DSMS receiver should always be used in conjunction with a DSMX satellite).

As far as the Robird goes, you bind the satellites to a receiver for the specific model that are using, turn the power off, then unplug them from the receiver, then connect them to the Robird. They will retain their bind for that model.

Sorry Clem, i'll try and explain. I will say that this is my experience and would be fascinated to know if this not normal.

I bind Rx1 with Sat1 to Model1 in my Tx. I can then use Sat1 with a robird and have it correctly bind to Model1 when powered.
But I can't then use Rx1 to bind to a Model2 on the same Tx and be able to continue using Sat1 on Model1. As soon as I bind Rx1 to Model2, Sat1 loses its bind to Model1.
Essentially I have to put Rx1 in a box labeled with Model1 and not use it for anything else.
Of course, you can switch Rx1 and Sat1 to a different model but they move as a unit.

Think this was one of the issues that I had when binding mine for the 450. I tried to bind with a CCPM setup and then tried to change it to 90deg swash in the radio and had issues, so I just rebound with the new model setup in the Tx and put the sats back on the 450. Worked just fine.

When setting up a reciever I always give myself a whole day to deal with any issues that will inevitably crop up (like figuring which channel needs to go to what servo).

This might be stupid but.....are you powering the robird when you attempt to connect to the sats?
