Default your tx when not in use...

Hi everyone

I got a question. When you are not using your tx and you put it away, is there a correct way to position the sticks?

Should I leave them centered, to their lowest position or the highest? Or that doesn't really matter?

Thanks for the info,

I have a Futaba t7C just in case

Cheers
Jo.

I don't know if one position is more correct that others. Me, I leave the throttle stick at low, just to hammer it into my skull to pay extra attention to it before starting the whole thing up, strengthening a habit I guess you could call it.

Not sure it really matters, mine goes in case or in shade when I'm done flying, sticks are left wherever they are.

Of course it is just 'stick', not sticks. And actually, just the throttle, since everything else is typically spring centered. My understanding is that if the Tx is turned off, then there is no power to any of the circuits, so it does not matter at all where the throttle stick is once you shut off the Tx.

However, *before* you turn on the Tx, you might want to get in the strong habit of having the throttle stick at lowest position. Before I turn on my Tx, I *always* check that all the toggle switches are pushed away from me and the throttle is at zero, full down.

I have a DX7, and like many others, it will beep at you if THOLD or FMODE is not 'off' when you power up.

Default thanks!!!

Hi everyone

Thanks for the answers.

Rojack, you made the strongest argument. As you can see, I am a beginner and that is why I love this hobby, I learn something new every day. Excellent point you made about the TH stick and I will most definitely take on the habit you suggested. Makes complete sense.

I am so happy to belong to this forum and have access to all the wealth of info available through you guys!

Regards
Jo.

I'm in the habit of always putting my thumb on the top-side of the throttle stick so that is in the down position when ever I pick up my Tx. This just reinforces the throttle stick down as a good safety procedure. As far as when its stored I usually place the throttle stick in the down position other switches don't matter as they may change positions as I place the Tx in its case. When I take the Tx out of the case I push all switches to the forward position and turn the gear switch to the mid position and then put my thumb over the throttle stick holding it down.
