If you are using a full RX with the Robird, it looks like you can't use the governor function. Is this right? (It looks like the plug that you would use for the throttle is used for one of the RX plugs.)
Correct - Gov only works when using sats / single line receiver

I did receive the AR7200bx from Santa and was able to bind my Sat RX so I can use it with the G31. Now my next question is about the Swash Servo PW/Frame Rate. I have Align DS 410m servos for cyclic control and a Spektrum H5000 for the tail. I have not been able to determine what the best frame rate setting to use for these servos. I find torque and speed specs but nothing on the PW or frame rate settings.

Does anybody have any history with these servos at the higher frame rates?

Thanks in advance,

RWW

Darn. Oh well, maybe someday I'll upgrade to a DX7 or the like. Thanks.

Try these bro..

Doesn't show your tail servo, I'd imagine it is 1520/333..but you can go 1520/250 to be safe.

Thanks LDH, I searched for almost an hour looking for a chart like that. 1.5 ms @ 125hz might be to fast for the 410m. The servo I have for the tail was listed on the chart with the full Spektrum part number. It was listed at 1.5ms@200hz. That should work OK for the type of flying I do.

Mine came in. Did a quick setup, I'll fine tune it later. Love how easy it set up and how quick and painless the firmware update is. (the Tarot zyx felt like you had to trick it to update.) Hopefully I can get it fine tuned this week and ready for a test flight when the weather warms up a bit.

Default G31 not recognised on PC USB

Hi

I just received the G31 today , downloaded latest software then connected via the USB. The driver installed and I was able to connect to the G31 setup program and using my satellite RX- did a bit of configuration and was looking good, then saved and disconnected everything! I then reconnected via the USB but get a continuous flashing green light on number 3 LED on the G31 and I'm getting an error saying "USB device not recognized"- my pc no longer recognizes the G31 . What have I done wrong? I sure hope I did not miss-configure something? Is there a way to manually reset the G31 or something?

Regards,
MK

This is a cross-post from a different thread, but I believe it is better suited to go here. I did some searching, and I haven't find the answer.

I must say...I was pretty set on the ZYX-S, but I am starting to do a little more digging on the Robird since it's come up in several discussions lately. It's looking pretty good...

I did see this in one of their product sheets, and I was wondering if someone could provide more information on this capability, and what is required to take advantage of it:

Governor function
  • Support electricity and oil
  • Electricity support 2~16 magnetic pole, Support magnet sensor and Electric phase sensors, support bail-out,Support soft-start
The bail-out support got my attention, but is that a different add-on module?

I believe its referring to auto-rotate bailouts.

Default Continuous flashing green light!

I'm using Windows 7, the thing is I got the G31 working when I first unboxed the device, downloaded software then connected USB, everything was working fine , made changes to device and saved, but then I reconnected the USB and now all of a sudden I get the flashing green light on LED 3. It feels like the G31 has lost it's firmware. I also tried holding the "Next" button on the device then connected to USB, but I'm alwys getting the "USB device not Recognized". Man this is killing me... Guys, any suggestions?

Regards,
MK

Yeah they just released a new firmware. I connected to my heli and went to load the software and it was gone. I reloaded, then updated..all is well. I originally though I erased it by accident, guess when they intro a new firmware the old won't work. Not a biggie, since you have to be online to use it anyways..just kinda threw me off.

I should have asked this before I ordered one. Does the G-31 have working S-Bus support? I bought a ZYX-S for my 250 just to find out that it won't work. The primary channel assignment is all messed up and no settings to fix it in the setup.

KingMarc -

The majority of the G31 units in the market right now are running software version 0.98c. You have to be connected to both the internet and to your G31 when updating the software to the latest version (which at this time is 0.98e). Make sure that the software update has completed correctly by attaching the USB to your G31 (you don't need it powered seperately for this) and read the current version on the start-up screen. See the attached document.

It sounds like your software update didn't take as the buttons aren't clickable. Make sure that you have a solid connection to the internet when you're updating your G31.

I hope this helps you out.
