Default Did Piro Optimization cause this?

I setup my Blade 400 with a ZYX flybarless system and everything looked like it was alright until I lifted off. It was an ugly sight to see it flip over immediately. I'm not even certain which way it went over.

I checked all the servo, stick, and gyro compensation directions and all appears to be correct,. I did discover that the Piro Optimization direction was set the wrong way. I must have misinterpreted what it was supposed to do when I originally set it up.

My question is:what exactly is Piro Compensation and what is the likely result if it is set wrong?

In other words, did setting it the wrong way cause this crash?

Thanks,

No, wrong piro comp cannot cause a flip over. It will make pirouettes unstable in the air, but not much else.

If you've checked inputs and gyro comp, then I'd suspect vibes, or static. Is your tail grounded to the motor mount?

No, the tail is not grounded to the motor mount, but it soon will be. I did notice that the XYX is very sensitive to static or maybe capacitance. If power up and just let it rest on a table, I can cause wild servo swings by touching one of the servo arm screws with a screwdriver. I'll start grounding stuff.

Thanks,

Yep. These and static do not mix. It's a real PITA. My Protos (a static monster) is pretty much grounded during the winter because of this.

I use silicone spray on my belts, it makes the belt conductive,

works for me, I don't soak them down every flight, but spray some down the boom, and on the belt,
some of my belt heli's have grounded booms, some don't, I spray all my belted heli's.
