Default Powerlab 6 Bad Cell Count node wiring XH

So I have a brand new PowerLab 6 plus and EPBuddy Paraboard v2

Last night I was familiarizing myself with the charger and one of my newer small 6s batteries.
I tested the monitor mode of the charger and was successfully able to see all cells of the battery, voltage and what not.

I switched over into charge mode and received an error about the banana plugs not being connected. I thought it was weird and then tried again and received a different error "bad cell count node wiring XH"

I tried restarting the charger and plugging the battery into different ports on the board which was not successful. I bypassed the main leads on the board and plugged the pos and neg of the batt directly into the PL6 leaving the balance connector still running through the board and still receive the same error. I tried charging mode and monitoring mode and both now fail.

I tested continuity on the paraboard and the balance lead running from the PL6 to the board and everything looks

I took the battery and plugged it into my Accucell charger and it recognized all cells and began charging.

Did my charger suddenly go bad between the time it was working and stopped? I did not change anything between when i was successfully monitoring and then charging.

I have one 6S port on my parallel board that gives me that error code whenever I plug a pack into it. Haven't taken the time to figure out why as the other ones work fine. To determine where the problem is you'll need to isolate the paraboard entirely. Although your first error code indicated an issue with the banana plugs, the problem is most likely with the balance connectors.

It could be a bad or intermittent connection. If you have another balance board, I would try that first. If not I would connect the balance lead from the pack to one of the ports on the board. With the balance lead that goes into the charger, check the voltage from the ground wire (black, pin 1) to pin 2. That's cell 1. Then from the ground to pin 3 (cell 2). Keep doing this until you've checked all cells in the pack and got a reading that matches the actual cell voltages. If that checks out, then I would contact Revolectrix or your vendor for service.

This evening i found the cable to hook my parallel rig to my other brand charger and it worked fine.

Out of dumb luck i happen to be in temporary possession of a second PL6, i plugged the whole rig into it, fired it up, works no problem!

I guess i have a bad PL6 :-/

Unless anyone has any ideas i'm going to send the bad unit back to where i purchased and keep the working one.
