Low Throttle end point
Im trying to set up a VX1E with a castle ICE100. When I do throttle callibration for the esc I can get it to see full throttle but can not get low throttle to arm esc even with toggling throttle hold, adjust trim and sub trim to lowest setting. My transmitter is a JR XG8 with a JR infinity rx. Is there and end point adjustment in the vortex Im not seeing on the pc software?
Thanks for your help, |

After you do the Tx Setup where you get 0 and 100 in the Tx Live Screen for the throttle channel, this is where you adjust the endpoints:
Throttle Idle Endpoint Throttle Max Endpoint http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/v...?menu=5&item=8 There should be no need to use any throttle trim from the Transmitter on a electric heli. Let us know how you make out.

The following applies if you are using XBUS Mode B:
There is a strange signal scaling in XBUS Mode B and as a result the output throttle signal of the Vortex works in a slightly shorter range than it would with other receiver options. I can't remember the exact details but I looked at this before I decided that in order to preserve cyclic and tail resolution it was best to leave it just as we had it. There is however a workaround to arm your ESC. 1) In the Gov menu right at the bottom in the advanced parameters set: Governor -> Cyclic to Throttle Mix = 0% Governor -> Collective to Throttle Mix = 0% Governor -> Collective to Throttle Boost = 0% 2) Go to the Setup -> Transmitter. Adjust your radio endpoints etc so it can reach the full 0% to 100% range. 3) Go to Setup - > Throttle -> Governor Type and set it to 'MixOnly' 4) Finally adjust the endpoint in the throttle menu to arm the ESC. Do not adjust the radio endpoints for it. Setup - > Throttle -> Throttle Idle Endpoint Setup - > Throttle -> Throttle Max Endpoint The idea behind it is to get the Vortex to process the throttle signal so that it gets scalled back to its correct range. To do this we need to select the MixOnly governor type. Now, I assume you use the governor in the ESC so we don't want anything to be mixed into the RPM control signal which is what the mixes are set to 0% in the first step. |
