Quick vid for Dial Indicating a TRM VX275 clutch
Hi there HF'ers,
I've put together a quick video showing the approach I use to correct the runout on a clutch adapter/plate with my TRM VX275. It is also applicable to all Zenoah RC format heli engines that run the stock clutch.
It's not Hollywood by any means, but I hope someone may get some use or information out of it. What prompted this was I noticed on one of my adapters had a 0.4mm run-out, which was introducing more vibration than I was happy with into my Whiplash Gas. These adapters are a mass produced item originally intended for Go-ped applications and the manufacturing tolerances are not designed for the kind of precision we are needing in our performance tuned 15,000rmp engines. Dial indicating clutch runout on Nitro motors has been common practice in our Helis for years, so why not check your Gasser also before installing it in the machine With this process done and one of Al's newer VX275's running in the Whip, the engine is running as smooth as silk. I'm talking as smooth if not smoother than my Trex600 Nitro! Yep it's that good... Great work Al with your modifications on this motor!
