B450 3D and CPII (DX6i)
G'Day all.
Finally got my heli and CPII together again! Nice to be here in AZ where it is warm. Been hovering around (w/training kit) in an open grass space. Perfect, no one around, nothing to run into. The wind is a bit funny here, one second it is gusting, next, nothing. Installed my CPII, and after 3 packs of hovering into a steady, gusty type wind, I realized that I had mistakenly reversed the on/off switch for the CPII during the QUICK SETUP. It was quite obvious when I flipped the switch and the heli was back to sliding around like normal. So here I am thinking I was hovering au natural, where in fact it was my CPII doing the hovering!! I had been taking off, hovering and landing with the CPII on. Naturally I had been adjusting the trim on my TX, thinking the CPII was off. Finished flying 3 more packs this way, and no crashes!! Not sure if I want to fly around with CPII turned off now! Ha ha. It hovers nicely with minimal stick movements. Anyhow, I have a few questions about my CPII. 1. When I do my PREFLIGHT check, I have numbers showing for both pitch and roll. When I raise or lower the tail the numbers change. If I manage to get them to 0, the tail is at an angle, not any where level. Is that okay? In my PREFERENCES menu, under STABILITY, I have the Pitch Gain @ 45%, and Roll Gain @ 50%. I have the rear sensor behind the horizontal stabilizer, well back on the boom. 2. I am still not 100% sure if I should be adjusting the trim with the Tx or, (if and how), in the CPII controller, and is it with the Pitch and Roll settings? Thanks for any help, Wayne

Assuming you wanting to correct a drifting issue..... You will need to trim CPII for level flight when it is ON independently of when it is OFF. Some people tilt the main sensor to achieve level flight in this case. Some people use the Set Angles menus. Both methods achieve the same results. One does it mechanically, the other does it electrically. Thanks for any help, Wayne

Hi Nightflr,
CPII has been working like charm. Almost feels like a buddy-box! I have the trims sorted out, where I can release the sticks and it levels out quite nicely! Saved my bacon more than once! I do a pre-flight check with the IR controller, and off I go! Love it. Thanks again for your assistance.
