Default Lynx 180CFX frame and skids... looking nice

was just browsing and saw that Lynx has some lightweight frames and some nice looking skids for the 180 CFX already... given we are talking 1mm cf I imagine the weight loss is absolutely minimal from the larger cut outs, but it looks to have better options for wiring. Might be worth a swap if you ever smash the stock ones.

I'm tempted to hold off buying my 180CFX and just doing a build myself from mostly aftermarket parts... I'd need to do my own electronics anyway so I can fly with my Jeti. Nice to see the mods are coming out fairly quickly!

What I'd love to see is some kind of mod to the lower frame that would allow us to fit in a real FBL system like an Ikon or Mini VBar. The only thing I'm not digging about the 180CFX right now is that shotty FBL system.

what is the distance between the frames?

I was fairly sure i'd be able to fit a Vortex VX-1e somehow (I'd probably decase it for weight). looks like this frame might be easier as you could have it in the middle raised up slightly so it uses the cut-outs to effectively widen the frame.

The one linked above isn't really a whole frame, it's just replacements for the sides. But I do like that it's more open on the bottom than the stock version. Who knows, maybe you could squeeze something else in there if it can overlap the sides a bit. I don't have a 180 yet, so I'm not sure about the measurements. There is the GY280 that some guys are liking, but I'm not too keen on that one since it's kind of a knockoff clone of the VBar.

If you were ambitious and just needed, say 1-4mm of extra space, you could always add washers under every frame panel screw to effectively widen the frame.

In the 250 forum somebody used some Alu tubing to do just that. The weight penalty was minimal, but it can add a few mm of extra space for fitting a larger FBL unit.
