Default Finished mine!

Hi all

Just thought i would share my joy at finally finishing the build due to a delay in getting the servo's. Anyway cant wait to maiden it after ordering my battery and charger today. My previous heli was a falcon 3D and the difference in quality is enormous, plus this thing is huge in comparison. I am really looking forward to see how well this baby flies!!!

Very nice and doesn't have the "off the shelf" look. Is that Hurricane 550 landing gear? Loving the "remove before flight" tag.
Still working on mine. Have you flown that beeatch yet??

Thanks Jetleaf. No there not the Hurricane 550 landing gear, The skid pipes are the ones that comes with T-Rex 500 and the skid supports are from a Roxxter.
I haven't had a chance yet to make it's maiden flight maybe this weekend.

Are those from the Roxxster 11 or 22?

First flight with my new 9650's. So much more precise and smoother than the 5245' they replaced.

I'm not 100% positive but I think it was for the 33, Had it sitting around the house for a few months.
I did cut it down and drill some holes to make it fit.

Socal500 that's a GREAT picture.

Finally finished my T-REX 500cf...

Must say - compared to my other heli's - stock standard - this one goes like a rocket!

I'm only beginner-intermediate so no fancy tricks for me yet!

Setup:

t-rex 500cf
ar6200 receiver
hs-82mg's on cyclic
jr g770t + 8900 on tail
2 x 3s Kong Power 2200mah
12 tooth pinion
metal tail / head levers
boom, esc, frame earthing
yellow skids, and blades
dynasty fiberglass 424mm blades

Flight time - 6 min, pushing just 1500mah back into batteries so will up it to 7 min...

pictures of all my helis in order so you can see the size comparision..
Particularly for those that want to compare the t-rex 500 with the hurricane 550..

my comments - hurricane 550 is a nice heli - flies smooth.. good for a beginner onwards
However, the t-rex 500 would probably suit intermediate onwards... the better your skills the more you would preferr the t-rex as it's a rocket out of the box.. however, the hurricane is a much gentler start to helis and an all round performer..

Helis in pics - from small to large;

t-rex 450 se
t-rex 500cf
hurricane 550
Raptor 50 se (nitro)

Oh - you will notice that from a front-on perspective the t-rex 500 and the hurricane are virtually identical in dimensions - it's just that the 500 is a little smaller side on and rotor diameter..

Forgot to mention...

Comparing the Hurricane 550 to the T-rex 500...

One of my biggest gripes with the hurricane is that it requires quality batteries as they get warm and the
std motor gets quite hot... (the kong power batteries have been great on the hurricane so far!)

The T-rex500 however, on the 12 tooth pinion, leaves the battery packs cooler and motor is also cooler and seem to get a minute and may be a little more extra flight time on the t-rex... but it is still early days for me...

On a down note - it's a mighty tight squeeze under the T-rex's bonnet when using the 2 kong Power batteries... you need to slide them down a little so they allow the canopy to clip onto the canopy stands..
