Default Does 600se need grounding ?

Hi all , I have a 600 sx I bought new and it came with grounding wires , tail box to boom and boom to motor , I just bought a used 600 se and it has no ground wires , should I add them ? also , is it the tail box to motor that needs grounding , if so , ill run a wire from the tail box to the motor , or do I need to do the same as the 600 sx has ? ... thanks .. All belt driven Logo helicopters need the grounding kit. The correct way to ground the heli is to run one wire from the bolt that holds the idler on the tail to the boom. Mikado made a conductive tail pulley that bridges the connection from belt to idler. The second wire goes from the tail boom (where it is secured to the frames) to the motor mount.

Anyone who tells you they don't need it is incorrect. I lost my 550SX because the connection between the idler and tail boom was intermittent. This caused a static discharge and caused the FB unit to do a hard reset in flight.

Its a must! All belt driven tail machines need a path for the voltage that will be made to safely short out. I go even further and use RC car shock silicone oil mixed with powdered graphite to lube the belt. I like layers of protection.

I've built my 550sx twice, and did this differently both times, and I'm still not convinced I'm doing it the "right" way.

Does anyone have a picture of where they're attaching the ground wire to the tail boom?

Yeap mine is grounded, glitched like crazy when the grounding come apart once!

Tail case to boom, boom to motor mount. Perfect

The Mikado one isn't that expensive, I bought theirs. However, it would be easy enough to make with a trip to Radio Shack.

If you've kept the 14 flybarred then it's not as critical. If your gyro goes berserk due to static discharge then your tail will be uncontrollable, but the rest of the servos would be fine. With flybarless it's virtually guaranteed carnage if the gyro wigs out.

Static can, however, also affect receivers. So I think the safest rule is: if it has a belt, it should be grounded.
