Default Weird governor tendencies?

Hi guys, I'm using my first castle product (a 160HV) on my Rush 750. I've been using nothing but Kontronik so far but this heli already came with the 160.

Anyway, I've noticed what I consider to be weird behavior so I figured I'd come here to ask advice. The governor for the most part seems to react well, but there is one instance where it makes the heli act strangely.

When I am doing certain moves I load the head and the gov kicks in, and in that same move the head overspeeds. When the overspeed is over the gov has stopped loading in power because in the overspeed the head isn't loaded. As soon as I load the head again the gov seems to kick in fairly hard, causing the tail to kick out a little and overall it just isn't a smooth transition.

What causes this, and is it normal? I've never had to mess with any gov gain using Kon products, but is that what I should be looking at here? I think my gov gain is set at 20, for what it is worth.

Thanks in advance guys.

You might try lowering your gov gain a little, and see if it helps soften this.

Is this an Edge? If so, you can configure the white wire to control the governor gain from the TX.

I set this up on mine, and was able to dial in my governor gain quickly, vs trying something for one session, then going home, adjusting the gain with Castle Link, and trying to compare during the next session.

My TX lets me use trim switches to control the channel I'm using for gain, so I was actually tweaking it in-flight, which was cool.

There's not a formal writeup on it, as far as I know.

There, is, however, scattered info to be had here:
AUX wire governor gain,
and here on RCGroups (this one includes feedback from a Castle employee):
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2239524

The Edge manual should general info about what the single white wire coming off the ESC can be used for (eg- providing an RPM signal to an external governor, or setting the gain of the Edge's internal governor, plus some other options).

Ask any questions you have, people will try to help.

Or get a Castle field programmer, I call it an air card, works pretty nice.
