Servo wire/plug in help with 3GX
Hello everyone.
I'm looking for some help on how to wire/plug the servos into the 3GX FLB unit on an Align 550 DFC. I can either use a receiver with 1 sat or just 2 sats with no receiver. My question is, what wires/servos goes into what in either set up? Also would like to know what's the best set up; receiver and 1 sat or no receiver and 2 sats?

If you are using your DX6i you will have to use a normal receiver first and then plug into the 3GX.
If you are going to use your DX7s you can just put 2 sats on the 3GX this is the easiest way. The gyro gain is channel 7 which is why this setup wont work the the 6 channel TX |

Install the software on a computer and run it you don't need anything connected.
On the first page there is a tab called "connectivity instructions" click on it and then just keep clicking next as you do each step. The instructions have pictures, its really easy, follow each step exactly and take your time to get things perfect and you should have no problems. |

Few more questions
Hello everyone.
I have few questions. I have a Castle Talon 90 brushless ESC on a 550 dfc. However, the ESC is attached under the battery holder, so the wire for that plugs into the 3GX is too short. 1) Can i use an extension so that the wire can reach the 3gx? 2) The colors of the wire coming from the ESC are yellow, orange, and brown. If I can use an extension wire, how do the colors match up to the red, white, and black wires for the extension wire? Thanks in advance. This is the heli i bought. In the pic you can see the wire coming from the ESC that i'm talking about. https://www.helifreak.com/attachment...9&d=1369772839 Need to get that wire matched up and extended.

Thanks for the quick reply
The gauge of the extension wire should be the same correct? I'm asking because i have some left of wire when i did 1/8 on road racing with a plug that fits the ESC wire, but it's thinner. Also, can these wires be spliced?

I've only ever used compatible gauge extensions and premade jumpers so have never needed to splice.
I am also unsure whether splicing is acceptable for the ESC lead, so wouldn't want to tell you yes or no. Hopefully someone else will be able to clarify for you. Sorry I could not be of more help on this matter |

The Tallon 90 has a BEC capable of 9A continuous and 20A peak so you don't really want to drop the size of the cable at all if you are using the BEC. I you aren't using the inbuilt BEC you need to remove the positive wire. When you plug the extension cable into the ESC cable put some clear heatshrink over the connector and that way it can not come apart or you can get little clips that do the same thing.

you need to disable the Talon90 internal bec as you can't run both. However, from what I gather you are not, so you don't need to remove any wire as the Talon bec will be powering your electrics and is quite capable of doing so. Hope this makes sense |
