Hi,

If we ignore the Gov. Switch and assume you have it inhibited, then the gov will be enabled if the gov channel indicates that it should be on, and if the throttle channel is above a programmed threshold hold. The gov channel is controlled by the gov menu in your Tx (a T8FG?) which can be set to Off or a set speed. The throttle channel is set by your throttle curve. If you follow the procedure in the manual the Stick Switch will be set to enable the gov when the throttle curve rises above 30% (or whatever else you've set it to).

Most folks spool up in normal mode and for that condition they have the gov menu set to "Off". Their throttle curve is likely 50-80% at mid stick. When they switch to IdleUp1 they have the gov menu set to the desired speed, but make the mistake of setting the throttle curve to 100% flat. What you need to do, if using a THR.Mode of Tx.Curve or Optimize in the CGY750 gov's Expert menu, is, ignoring feed-forward for now, set the IdleUp throttle curves to be flat at the same level as they are in normal mode at the point you switch. The reason for this is that in gov mode a change of throttle level is used as a hint that a load change is occurring (feed-forward). If you're using a 100% flat curve in IdleUp1 the gov gets a bit fat hint to speed up; hence the overspend you see.

Does that make sense?

Steve

Yup, the stick switch works off of throttle "out", which, with a curve could be whatever you want it to be. at whatever stick position you want.

Yes it does, is this something that I would benefit from since I am a 701 user?

Is there a comprehensive list of explanations for the expert settings anywhere?

The user manual does a decent job... but it can be a bit confusing. You just gotta play around with it.

I don’t use the Gov, only the gyro, so if you need any help with the gyro side just PM me and I'll do my best.
