Default Throttle curve ?

I'm trying to get my idle up throttle curve set on my Magnum 44. Could you guys post what your curve is, I realize the curves will be different from one set-up to another, I'm just looking to see if I'm in the ballpark. My normal curve is: 0- 15- 30.5 -45- 58.5- 65- 80.5 This seems to be giving me a good head speed,( 1650 in hover). I'm running -10 to +10 pitch, 0 degrees at mid stick.

Anybody? I'd just like to get an idea if I'm in the ballpark on my set-up...

Whoops, forgot to help you out...

Anyways, here are my main throttle curves. Pitch is set to +/- 12.5.

Numbers are denoted as:

stick position (%) / Throttle Out (%)

Stick position is 0% at full negative, 50% at mid-stick, 100% at full positive

Idle 1 (about 1800 rpm):

-0% / 100% (full negative)
4% / 100%
17% / 68%
34% / 50%
50% / 41% (mid stick)
66% / 50%
83% / 68%
96% / 100%
100% / 100% (full positive)

Idle 2 (about 2000rpm):

0% / 100% (full negative)
5% / 100%
20% / 77%
38% / 58%
50% / 56% (mid stick)
62% / 58%
80% / 77%
95% / 100%
100% / 100% (full positive)

I also have cyclic to throttle mixes on top of these curves. These main collective to throttle curves hold the headspeed very well at mid stick on the ground, with the heli very light on the skids on the ground, in a hover, and in climb outs, but the headspeed would sag doing continuous flips, rolls, and funnels. The cyclic to throttle mixes help maintain headspeed in moves requiring a decent amount of cyclic input that suck power & headspeed but require minimal collective input (like funnels.) Depending on how you fly the cyclic to throttle mixes may or may not be required to maintain a somewhat steady headspeed.

Ok, so I finally got back into heli mode after a long winter. I got the Magnum in the air yesterday, playing with headspeeds. I am running -10/+10 pitch. At hover , stick position 4, ( 7 point curve), I was at 50% , 2040 head rpm, higher than I like. I lowered my percentage at this position to 45%, this brought the HS down to 1920. I'd like to be around 16-17k rpm. This is in normal mode. So obviously you can't run a 0-100% curve, if I'm at 40% at a hover, my top end will be alot short of 100%, correct? I don't fly 3d, so I'm just looking for smooth, scale like flying. How do I determine my top stick value? I read somewhere that the throttle curve for a turbine flattens out form hover up.

Why would changing the hover position mean that the top end changes? IOW, your hover point can be 10%, but still have 100% at the top....

What does your PITCH curve look like? It's permissible to alter it as well especially since your not wanting to do 3D, simply raise the mid point to achieve 5 degrees of pitch for hover.

This will also have the effect of lowering the throttle RPM, since you're now hovering at half stick instead of 3/4 stick.

I fiqured that if I lowered the mid point throttle value, I would have to lower the upper values also to keep from overspeeding the head. My pitch curve is linear from top to bottom:

0-0%
1-17%
2-34%
3-50%
4-67%
5-84%
6-100%

I'll go back to a linear curve on the throttle and increase the pitch % at hover.

I'm going to try these curves tonight:

Throttle:

0
17
34
50
67
84
100

Pitch:

0
17
34
60
73
86
100

I'll let you know what happens...
