Talking 18 MZ switches

I'm changing over from a 12FG to 18MZ. I've noticed the switches have been moved around. Is this done because of customer feedback or some other reason. Can anyone tell me of any other major changes. This really is a nice radio.

Thanks

Not sure about the 18MZ but the newer Futaba radios (8FG super and 14SG) all have the new switch arrangement. It’s now the same for helicopters and airplanes. I think that is the new industry standard. I really like the new switch arrangement since I fly helicopters, airplanes, and sailplanes.

I agree I think throttle hold on the side of the throttle is good, and I think I'll get used to it

You can assign any switch to any function so it really does not matter what the default is.

You can also move any switch to any place as well. So if you want the momentary switch on the back RH corner, you can. If you want a 2 way switch front LH corner, you can.

There is a single screw in the centre of the shoulders, undo that, and each switch plugs into sockets. You can move them around.

Hi guys I am aware that you can move the switches around and assign the function. What I meant to say is are most people just going with the new switch arrangement. I know it is personal preference.
