Default QJ8 Head O-Rings

Anybody have and extra pair of these? Used is fine as long as they aren't destroyed!

Hey Henry, Like your new picture there! I wonder if she is going to be the pilot? She is getting in the front seat.

Just about done. I found some o-rings at Lowes but they are thin and had to use two on each side of the head. I'm not sure this will work and can't tell into I spin it up. I need to get some close-up pics of the head so I can get the linkage right. It has been awhile since I built one of these. I will be working on the head a little bit later this evening.

I owe you a phone call...you gonna be around later?

Glad it was a little visit and not a large one! Finally got a RX for the QJ8 so I have been working to get it finished. Should be done by tomorrow or Sunday. It's gonna be fun to get airborne again. It's been almost a year since I last flew!

Thanks for the heads up on amp draw between a 3S and 4S. That explains why the ESC ws getting a bit warm. I have to put a different connector on the ESC before I can try the 4 cell pack you sent me.

By the way, I figured out the O-ring issue...I thinks!

You're too kind! I had problems tonight with servo direction but got that sorted out. Kept forgetting I had a used radio and was moving from one model name to another without thinking. Anyway, I got everything working in the correct directions for collective, aileron and elevator but the gear switch is not changing the gyro from heading hold to rate mode. I must have a broken wire inside the radio at or near the gear switch. I will have a look tomorrow.

Also, I noticed that the insulation is broken on one of the motor wires right as it comes out of the ESC. It shouldn't cause any trouble because it is just inside the clear covering of the controller but it still bothers me a bit. I miss that Quark ESC I had on my first QJ8.

Also, I discovered one of the servo wires has a break in the insulation of the ground wire. I will try to get these wiring matters corrected tomorrow. If it isn't one thing, it is always something else!! This hobby will keep you on your toes, won't it?

Henry, well I hope you get all this sorted out. It will be a great heli when you get finished with it.
