Here's a pro wringing out the Joker with a new motor from Minicopter - the XmaX 560 - works well and gave the HS we were looking for topping out in the 1900s

GAv's flown the TDR a lot and reckons on first looks the Joker3 is the better 3D machine whereas the TDR is a missile

Won't fit on the standard motor mount - check your KDE 1917 baseplate - weird mounting hole arrangement - I will get a spare plate and drill it up to try the Neu - they do run hot though !

I'll be taking it down to our Aussie "IRCHA" at Coff's Harbour and I'll see who I can sweettalk to give it a fly - I think Gav B does a top job though

Nice video. What's the total weight of your heli with everything on (cannopy, battery, etc etc)?
I use the X-era 4035/2.5y motor and like it a lot.

IMHO , the KDE Neu Motor runs cooler because of the cooling fan they added. It is just warm to the touch when I land.

I'll certainly try it when I get a spare motor plate - in the meantime here's some pics of Minicopter's new XmaX 560

Yes would be good to have weight info.

I think the other question would be which do you prefer John having flown both? Joker or TDR.

Which is better chocolate or strawberry milkshake ? Both helis are of equal quality - some minor difference ways of doing things but both of comparable engineering. The TDR is a missile and if you like fast passes and big sky loops that fitws the bill - if you want to have some more leisurely "in-the-box" flying then the Joker3 fulfills that perfectly. I like both equally but as the TDR is somewhat unique I'd probably take that one first - the Joker3 is comparable in flying to the Rave90E, the MPXL-E, the Trex700E and probably the SrimokE - I love them both and they are both keepers !

John was kind enough to let me fly his joker with the new motor and some 35C packs, not sure of RPM and pitch (it was a lot) it certainly moved.

Small annotation: A stock Joker 3 (only the motor was special made) has reached today on a speed contest 228 km/h (~141.7 mph) with calm wind and it was probably not yet the limit. The new stabilization system that was used holds the model in high speed very good, no sudden lift of the nose.

Really enjoy your video's but would really like to see the end of this build. Thinking of putting the money into this kit and would like to see and hear about the finished product from you. Thank you for your time.

Ummm been a while now - what did you want to know exactly ?? I still have the Joker3 and really like it - definitely a keeper - it makes a nice change from flying the TDR - it reminds me of a big Logo !! It is beautifully designed and durable - has required next to no maintenance and flies beautifully - it is also very fast and I plan to enter it into the inaugral Ausstralian Speed Cup in November !

So... Why would you start a build video series and not finish it. Very Disappointed.
