XTR 5.03 with DX-7 (airplane version)
Greetings,
I have been using XTR w/ the Optic 6 successfully. (borrowed XTR / Hitec from a friend) Now I am trying to use my DX-7 since that is what I fly at the field. (bought XTR / JR for myself) Two questions: Do you leave the DX-7 powered off and just insert the trainer cable? I believe that is how you use it for buddy-box mode. This comes up with "DSC" on the screen before the model name. How did you program the channels? I remember it being finicky when I went thru it w/ the Optic6, but I just can't get the DX-7 to come out with anything reasonable. (e.g. throttle stick just causes it to roll, etc...) Does it matter where all the switches are set during channel assignment? One time it would not advance thru the assignment screen until I powered on the DX-7 after every step. (disabling DSC mode) What a pain. Would anybody be willing to send me their FNC file for starters? Anything I need to set in the DX-7 programming? Thus far, I have tried a generic heli model, and the setup for my SEv2. (from Finless Bob & Co videos. :-) Finally, is it possible to have this thing do flight modes (normal and idle-up), throttle hold, etc...? Thanks for any pointers! n8

I can't give specific instructions but there is a great post on setting the dx7 with reflex and supporting auto-rotations as well. If you google for it, you'll find it.
here you go it was the first hit: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=992891 I've a dx6i and it also worked for that as well. When I plug in the trainer cable the dx6i starts up even if it is off. I can switch from normal to idle-up, and I can also use throttle-hold and practice auto-rotate. |
