Default 480 Super Combo, Scorp Timing & PWM with YGE

Quick question, which may actually be applicable to Scorpion motors in general.

Can anyone tell me what they are running for timing and PWM in the YGE when running the Scorpion 4015-1070?

The specs on the scorpion page states 5 deg timimg and 8kHZ PWM, but I've always heard 18 deg and above is generally recommended for YGE's turning outrunners.

Additionally, the math would say 9.5kHZ PWM based on the formula:
1100(kv) * 22.2 (volts) * 8 (poles)/20

I've read elsewhere that the posted recommended settings work well with Castle, but perhaps not YGE?

Any insight on this one would be appreciated.

The difference is that YGE calculates their timing differently than almost everyone else so 18degrees is 'normal' for a YGE. PWM frequency should be more universal though. For PWM I try to try the available settings on either side of the calculated 'ideal' frequency. Usually, one works a little better than the other. Other times it is very hard to discern any difference at all.

That's what I thought on the timing, appreciate the confirmation there.....

Good deal. I had all of the same settings except I'm using the YGE gov store and heli middle spool up until I get the mini v-bar upgraded to Pro.
