Default New larger motor.. need a mode 1 reset?

I am running gov store mode on my G700 and just got a larger Quantum motor.. do I need to do a mode 1 reset and do the spool up at 0º pitch again? Unclear to me.

Old motor Quantum 4135- 530KV

New motor Quantum 4530- 500KV

If you are using mode 5 then yes, reset. If using mode 4 no need.

When using Govstore mode perform a reset when Motor, Gear ratio, or Rotor blades are changed.

Thanks! That makes sense.. mode 4 does it every time. I might program mode 4 this time... all my packs are basically equal health.

Yes, I think I am going to switch back to Mode 4 for a while. With packs of similar health, it seems that, as long as you don't frequently do multiple spool-ups on the same pack (almost never for me), and as long as you are somewhat careful to spool up every time with no load (zero pitch) until the gov kicks in, then Mode 4 is a good option. As shown in Tom's (dl7uae's) throttle/PWM charts that he frequently posts (like the recent Mode 4 v 6 thread, for example), for much of the usable throttle range, you get a higher PWM for a given throttle % with Mode 4 as compared to the various gov store modes. And this seems to translate into higher resulting head speeds for a given throttle %. I suppose this is due to the nonlinear relation between throttle and PWM for the gov store modes. I guess the gov store modes are a bit more conservative to allow for packs of various degrees of health (could be wrong on that, of course, but that's how my simple mind interprets it).
