I have been considering upgrading to G4 but just came across a few posts syaing that reflex is more realistic.

Can someone who has flown with both give me some pro's / con's of reflex?
I just figured realflight just helps me with the mechanics(finger motions) but its not too realistic, I can hover inverted all day on realflight, but never done it for real.

Realfight is plug and play, Reflex is all in the set up. Realflight has a LOT more models, and flying fields The good thing about Reflex is that you HAVE to set it up, and while it may not be an exact replica, it gives you a really good hands on experiance with working with a radio.

am planning on getting a helicopter and have seen a lot advice to practice with a simulator . so are you saying that i would be totally lost with reflex cause its more realistic but you need to set it up and seeing as how i have never flown before i have no idea how to set up a real much less a sim. helicopter

You have to assign controls to the radio, and go through the settings to make it fly right. It would take some experimenting, but it isn't that difficult.

I tested Realflight 3.0 and 3.5 and Reflex before purchasing a simulator about many months ago.

Neither version of Realflight was anywhere near close to Reflex in terms of the helicopter images, backgrounds, physics or realism. I tried Realflight 4.0 after its release and it is also unimpressive.

Reflex does need to be set up properly, and you do use your own transmitter with it (when you purchase it you must specify which brand of radio you will be using to get the correct interface cord).

It is reasonably easy to tweak it and is much more realistic than any other I have tried (I have not yet had the opportunity to try Phoenix).

Although I would like to see more models on Reflex, that is a minor point, compared to the actual goal which is to provide the most realistic representation of model helicopter flight and control possible.
