Pontoon drag
The so called drag does not seem to be very noticeable, it's more a drag on lift. The bird requires more revs to get off the ground. That was also one reason I went from tubular pontoons to this triangle shape. They seem to not drag as bad as the tubular style.
Eh... Just having fun.

Here's a 300X I've been working on for someone else. It got a full repair and tune up:
Remounted the AR7200BX with 3M 4010 (3 layers, in two narrow strips on the unit + velcro strap). This gives it a silicone-based cushion similar to Align gel, but with the sticking power of 3M tape. Win win! Trex 450 tail hub and grips (smoooooth!) Don's Wicked motor + 9T pinion (smooooth!) Re-routed wiring to get the ESC wire away from the AR7200BX Some prismatic red bling to sharpen it up, along with white on the (Eflite) blades for better visibility I took it for a short test flight this afternoon, and it's smooth, quiet, and it has none of the 'wandery' feeling mine does. Now I'm jealous, because it flies better than mine. Anyway, it'll be packed up and sent back to its owner as soon as I pick up an SD card so I can copy off the DX8 settings file and include it in the box. I just thought I'd share a few pictures so he can see what he's about to get.

You do have to be careful when setting your tail limits though, on the inboard-side you can overdrive and "lock" the tail where it won't move. This tail (with Eflite orange blades) is very very smooth. Oh, and you don't have to futz with those washers in the blade grips with this setup either!

Thanks Chris!

But I did order the T450 tail grip assembly and will redo the tail travel on the AR7200BX once I get it. I have a set of the orange BLADE hop-up blades and a set of those LYNX orange tail blades to test. It'll be a sweet day indeed, to remove the vibes with a solid tail grip assembly. Once the weather warms up though, my Rave and Mini Prôtos will be taking the stage. I'm reaching the end of my comfort zone when it comes to spending money to keep my 300X's flying.

Badass man!
What is that again, Align 250 or 450 skids?

Trex 450 skids. They look good on the 450x too.

I received my Fusuno and I was very impressed with the finish! They were easy to work with and the entire process was 2 weeks.

Hey... Very NICE!
Have I seen that design (similar) before or is it your own creation? [EDIT] I see 130x canopy. Fusuno have some pretty good canopy designs in general... but their 300x series are a little ordinary. |

Good eye! It's the design from the 130X and the Mikados. So far the only thing I can spot in the air is orange so, I looked through the entire catalog.
