Default one breath is all you have

My dear Fiends

I feel wonderfull tonite

Have I got a new heli?.....no
Have I got a new gyro?....no
Have I got a new motor?..no

What I have Is far better than any of that...............

The best chrismas present ever .............

This morning I thought it may be going to be the worst

Why???

I dont have mouth cancer !!

For the past few weeks I have been waiting for the results of a biopsy on a suspicious growth in my mouth.

Having researched the matter on the internet the symptoms seemed likely to indicate a squamous cell carcinoma in the lining of my cheek.

By this morning by the time of my appointment I found it very hard to imagine that the result. would be nagative

To make matters worse I was kept waiting a further 2 hours after the appointment time before seeing the consultant.

When He said the lesion was beningn with no abnormal cells I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing.

Any way it looks like you may all have to put up with me for a little while longer.

The warmth and affection of you all has greatly helped to keep me in a positive frame of mind over this period, bless you all

But it is just a good reminder to me that we only have the breath we have just taken
you don't know if you will have another

Lets appreciate it

Ian

Nice words Ian.

I am sure that I speak for all of us here in saying that we are elated by the result, and wish you many more breaths!!!!!!! Nice to have you along with us Ian.

Mike

Christmas just got better.

Ian,

So glad the news was good. I know how bad the waiting is, and also the pain of going through treatment for a squamous cell carcinoma. Really glad that you don't have to go through it.

And wise words, let's all take a moment to think about absent friends and family and be thankful for what we have (apart from an obsession with small rotary objects!!)

It must have been a great relief to you hearing the good news. It must have been a scarey experience. And when you read up some things on the internet it can scare you even more. But thank god for it.

I'm glad everything turned out to be ok. You are right about the breath thing. As young as I am anything can be around the corner and we should appreciate our lives and make the most of it.
