My guess is a simple implementation of Chinese weights. Cheers.

Edit: Richard beat me to it and explained the purpose of Chinese weights as well!

Thank you for an excellent explanation.

Question

Carbon windshield decal looks way too big. Are we supposed to cut it to size?

On the site there is a video showing how to install it. They are oversized so you cut up the joint to match them

As per your advice
This was the only clear alcohol I had.
The canopy got degreased so well that I become naturally slow.

Slowing down isn't a bad thing cause building is one of the most fun parts. To me at least it is
wes likes this.

The older I get.. The more I like the build, when I was younger it was more about the finished product and getting it done so I could fly it.

Package with bits and pieces needed to complete the build is to be delivered today.
18 tooth pinion is the one I'll start with. Custom Kosmik bullet connectors for direct motor connection are there as well. Can't wait.

Tail servo is finally in place for good. Fitting the X8 servo in there properly presented a challenge to start with. The frame opening limited the number of servo arm styles that could be used. I decided against enlarging the bottom part of the opening due to close proximity of the frame edge. At the end I cut and filed the stock arm that came with the servo. Ball is set at 17.5mm from the centre.

As mentioned before I will start with 18 tooth pinion.
Custom Kosmik connectors cut the connection resistance to the bare minimum while making the installation look sooo.... clean.

Hi

I have been reading this thread.

Looks super cool.

I have a Diablo on order and will do it "UAE Style"......

I am getting the steal 2nd stage gear and 3rd bearing on the 1st stage gear.
I also ordered a XNova 4535-520..... To test out and compare to my Pyro 800.

I have MKS X8 servos, VBar, Kontronik Pyro 800-48, Kosmik 200..

Can't wait.

Regards
Paul

Stock power leads that come with Kosmik were about 3 inches short for this specific installation on the diabolo. They were replaced with JR heavy duty (36”) extensions cut to required length. No extensions/unnecessary connections allowed!

I always make my own custom ones and put the cores under the electronics tray next to the boom

For the first test Kontronik governor is set to 1760 and 1895rpm for idle up 1 and idle up 2 respectively.
Bail out is set on a separate switch at 26%, almost as per Kontronik instructions (25%) and it works flawlessly.

Question

Just as I put the heli away I noticed that the canopy didn’t sit properly when locked in place.
Take a look at the pics. Left side is almost touching the swash ball link.
Anyone else noticed that on the other diabolos?

Yes but it was caused by something being stuck in the teflon locking thing causing it not to go on all the way.

I could also see how that could happen if one was slightly cocked more than the other. Loosen it up, stick it back on, then fully tighten them down.
