Default ball link sizing

Hi everybody,

I read this at some other place in this forum.

this method really worked fine for me:

get an unused/spare ball, take an exacto knife and scuff up the ball a little, (a small cut along the ball will do it.) doing this will get you a very small cutting edge on your ball.

fit the ball into a dremel or electric screw driver, put some oil on the ball, fit the link and start rotating the ball with your electric tool (or by hand)

use caution not to oversize the ball, and dont spin too fast, so the plastic doesnt melt.

for me this method worked veryvery well. the links are still hard to put on and off, but they move very smooth without any play!

i like this moethod better than using a reamer tool.

cheers,

cyril

You can also grip it with a set of pliers to get the same effect.

Don't resize the ball links, they free up after couple of flights allby themselves

I don't re-size anything above the swash plate but everything under it i size just a little because the don't take as much abuse as the ones in the head so they take longer to loosen up, also don't size the two on the tail push rob because i had a bad set of tail blades vibrate them off on the 550.

Well,

first I didnt do anything to the links. Just clip them on. But after I finished the head, I realised, that it is moving unbelievably strong. (havent seen anything like this before.) So I really had to size the links. they are still quite strong, but much much better than in the original state.

Heli flies great. If ever they get too loose, I will replace them - no big deal. But most likely I would have to replace anything else first....

cheers,
