No ferrite ring on hv120?
I was just about to mount my esc -the one that came with the kit. There's no ferrite ring on the throttle lead. Isnt there supposed to be?

Ferrite rings are not really required on 2.4Ghz digital radios. Maybe they figure everyone that buys an HV ESC must have moved on from crystal radios.
Helifreak thread on the subject

The 120HV is not powering the receiver so it does not need a Ferrite ring. The ESC is actually getting power from the receiver, it won't work if you remove the power lead like you are required to do with an CC ESC that has an internal BEC if you have an external BEC or flight battery. The throttle signal lead is optically coupled in the ESC to remove interference.
The CC super BEC I'm using to power the receiver has rings on both outputs.
