Default Toxic Racing Motors G260PUH Prototype Flys!!

John came up yesterday Nov 17 and completed work on our Custom X-Cell Gas SE. This machine is a test platform for the new Toxic Racing Motors Prototype G260PUH, and we wanted to make sure it was right before flying it.Thanks John!!

After many hours of setup, checking and rechecking the heli he gave it the all clear to fly. Setting up the 9CHP was very straight forward including the necessary Collective-->Elevator mix to take out the interraction. We proceeded to the Post Office to test fly using the headlights of my truck.

After completing a thorough range check, the motor started on about 6 pulls. (I don't have a primer bulb on this carb, soon to change if necessary) We did a motor running range check and scoped it out with the Voltage checker that John posted about. The only EMF we found was on the red coil wire, the plug wire with the shielding was emitting ZERO EMF and none was detected on any other places on the heli.

Our first impression was that this motor was smooth as silk, with ZERO vibration of tail fins on the heli. (even the BIG slotted Vertical Fin) Keep in mine that this heli is swinging the BIG 710 V-Blades and 110 V Tail Blades, and it swings them with ease.

As many of you know, it is VERY common for the 260 to be smooth on the first tank up to about a gallon or so before they start with the bad vibs, so this very smooth running prototype still has a while to go to prove itself.

Now what you have all been waiting for....power report... This motor runs VERY STRONG, and after the first 10-12 minutes of run time it is evident that this motor will have great power if the vibs stay in control. We have VERY high hopes for this motor and flying last night and seeing how much power it had was the best adrenaline rush I have had in weeks!! A terrific first flight.

We told you from the beginning we would be honest and let you know how this motor does, good or bad, and keep you informed on the progress, and this is your first flying report!

Toxic Al of TRM is one of the most talented and forward thinking Zenoah builders anywhere and he is dedicated to helping the gasser side of the heli hobby!! We have 100% faith that Alan will mod the best running 260 for heli applications available anywhere. Stay tuned!!

Thanks for reading, I will try to get some video soon.

Jody Greer of www.insaneairfx.com did the canopy. Thank you Jody.

I am very excited about this new motor. We will be cautiously breaking this motor in and getting it ready to see what it can really do. First impressions are that it has a good amount of power and it is very user friendly as well, just as the previous offering by TRM. There was NO vibrations seen at all on the machine. Onward and forward!!

Later,
