Well I have the Ice Lite coming from a member here and bought the BEC from another member. Total cost to me was $80. A Koby is a little more then $150

I mailed the MKS support team today:

so its got to be the CC BEC Pro which is rated at 13amp continous with a 6s setup no idea if you really get to pull these 2.5 - 3 amp in flight but rather spending 40 bucks on the CC BEC Pro and adding 30 grams than a crash! or what do you guys think about this? - michael |

I think I wish I known that before picking up a second CC 10A for this heli (granted when I bought it I was planning a 450 build. Wonder I the 10a will suffice for the 5065's?

I just ordered a bunch of WR Hercules Super Mini BEC G2's ... I'll be putting on my Warp 360.

I'm thinking about ordering a YGE 90 LV. Overkill? Yes, but it has a 12A, 4.8V, 6V, 7.4V and 8V select-able bec, governor, afw and only weighs 82g. My current Castle Ice Lite 50A weighs 48.2g plus another 29g for the BEC (which I've just learned I'll need) so that's 77.2g total. So I'll only gain (another) 5g and have a more efficient esc that can also be used on the inevitable 500-550 sized build. Will have to give up data logging which is something I want but Skookum is working on a data logger that I can add to their new "black edition" 720 with GPS if it ever gets released.

The ESC is overkill IMHO. You only need 40-50A ESC ... I'm going to use a 50A opto (testing a new brand) with a WR Super Mini BEC. |

Yeah but it only weighs 5g more than a 40-50A ESC with external BEC. The Hercules ones you mentioned are $100 on top of the $80 CC Ice Lite 50A plus another $20 for the Castle Link which puts me at $200. The YGE 90 LV is a few bucks cheaper at $190, reportedly better than the CC and I can put it on a 500-600 sized heli when the time comes.

Also the Yge Yep clone esc's run well with the Vbar and Skookum gov's. And those gov's are spectacular.
Funny though. Thomas told me to tell everyone that 10a is a minimum safety net. I wonder if he forgot about the extra tail servo power draw here? And yes, in some rad direct swash or DFC type swash to grip systems the servos can easily draw this much amperage when doing things that require rapid pitch pumps at high headspeeds. Michael, always it is better to have a few more grams than the risk of a flameout. Trust me here! Just add up the costs of 7 MksDs95s including a 95i. Then add the costs of the totaled helis. And the loss of the esc's, and fbl controllers. I also lost a 450 running the ProBec. Not sure why on that one. I had previous flights in before it happened. I still plan on using one on another one of my 6s setups. But on my Warp I am def using the Hercules. Kinda jacked and eagerly waiting for Jeff to get my stuff put together when the support parts pricing gets sorted out. I don't want to just buy the heli and get grounded if anything on my end goes wrong. Jeff, I get direct info from some of the lead beta testers. So far there are still some serious issues they are reporting. That is all I can say about the Gps program.

I'm not convinced of these peaks in such a small servo.
Logged two flights on L600 today with BLS25/251 and Jive BEC hit max 6.xA Can't see little 450 servo's pulling more than this no matter the motor type.

Thomas's techs have physically measured these peaks on the Mks versions. Not sure of any others.

Wonder if a Jive 60LV would work well for this project?

Yeah, I'm referring to the Black Edition 720 specifically. They've been held up on testing due to a lot of rain out on the West coast. I told Art he needed to send me one, cuz I'm flying even if it's -5C! |

Way to big and heavy. Even on a 500 it eats up a lot of space.

What about this new CC esc with a 20A BEC seems like it would be fine (as long as it doesn't fail or catch fire) I fly the CC 160HV on my 7HV and it works just fine.
http://helidirect.com/castle-creatio...00-p-28452.hdx Guess it coud be a bit too big too?

keep in mind that these 20A are peak ratings @ 0.5s!
continous bec power is only 9A... should be good enough for the warp though. but the cc bec pro has a better continous rating of 13A (with 6S setup). |
