Dohh... Why didn't I think of that. The file showed up after checking display of hidden files. However the addresses have a c instead of 0. Like 0020c, 0220c and so on. Is that the same as 0020 and so on?

That seems unlikely to me. It is possible though. But please first make sure that you're using hex editor correctly.

Hi guys!
have been waiting for this moments for months, but procedure failed on my tx.

My T12FGH is USA version, 1.6 firmware, 1Gb SD Card.

Wiped out the card, formatted FAT under windows than formatted in TX and created a new model on sd (NEW1)

At adress 00200 read: 43 (all the adresses on the line before and after this are 00)
At adress 02200 read: 02 (all the adresses on the line before and after this are 00)
At adress 06200 read: 10 00 1F 77 93 D9 (repeated at 06280)
At adress 82a00 read: 00 (and all the adresses on the line are 00)

Searched for the strings above and found that:

'54 00 31 00 32 00 46 00 47' start at adress: 83202

What should I do?

Thank you so much!!

Hi ajd999

I have created a model-Shuttle in my 1GB card and have found the mentioned address is different from the above-mentioned. I attach the screen shot for your reference.

Thank you.

If sticks were not properly calibrated on 12FG, one had to send the radio to Futaba service to get things corrected. Not anymore... Below is the procedure to enter the Futaba 12FG service menu. Use at own risk.
  1. Format the SD card in TX.
  2. Open file TINYFS.IMG on SD card with hex editor on PC
  3. Change bytes at the following addresses (all number are in hex):
00200 : 23 (empty card should have 03 here)
02200 : 02 (empty card should have 00 here)
06480 : 00 00 1F 77 93 D9 00 00 00 00 00 13 00 01 00 00
82A00 : Enter ASCII codes for one of the following strings (no quotes):
  • 'T12FG TEST(NORESET)' - Shows all service menus and allows making all the changes.
  • 'T12FG TEST(LIMIT )' - Shows only a sub-set of service menus, with limited editing possibilities. E.g. Cannot change the product id, band, area...
  • 'T12FG TEST(RESET )' - Hard reset of the TX. All memory is cleared, total power on time is reset, product id is cleared, stick calibration is reset...
  • 'FX-30 TEST(RESET )' - I don't have FX-30, so I never tried it. Don't know what it does.
  • 'T12FG TEST(NOEDIT )' - Shows all service menues, but prevents any changes. Includes an RF test screen.
  • 'T12FG SCREEN SHOT ' - A screen shot of TX can be made with SW-H. Screen shots are stored on SD card and can be extracted with ffs.exe tool.
Insert card in TX and power on to enter the service menu.
Hold edit for 1sec on SWITCH TEST screen to advance to next screen.
Press S1 on other screens to advance to next screen.

Enjoy!

NOTE: I used firmware version 1.6 and 1GB SD card. On other SD cards above addresses may be different.

Default 12fg calibration

Success I have successfully recalibrated the main sticks & the sw/ vr pots on my 12fg. Below is the full procedure .

Main sticks

Put into service mode as described else ware in this forum & go to stick calibration screen.
Put sticks in neutral position including throttle move cursor to LEFT & press edit to set neutral point, when done WIDE should show on screen move left stick diagonally to bottom right
Hold there & press EDIT till NARROWshows on right of screen now move stick to top left & hold press EDIT till COMPLETE shows on screen left stick is now done.
Again put sticks in neutral position move cursor to RIGHT & press EDIT to set neutral piont, when done WIDE will show on screen move right stick to bottom right hold there press EDIT till NARROW shows on screen move right stick to top left hold there & press EDIT till COMPLTE shows on screen both main sticks are now recalabrated
SW/VR

First switch radio on in normal mode go to servo test & set all 3 position switches to mid position plus sideVR pots, also LD RD to mid points( they will beep when in centre ,SF, SH switches flick backwards & leave there.

Enter service mode go to stick screen as before move cursor to SW/VR press EDIT to set neutral when done WIDE will now show.

Put switches SA,SB,SC,SD down SC,SG forward, pots LD,RD fully anticlockwise side pots so that they are down at rear of case press EDIT NARROW will show on screen now reverse all switches & pots i.e.

SA,SB,SC,SD up SC SG back , pots LD,LR fully clockwise, side pots up at rear press EDIT COMPLETE will now show & everything should now be calibrated.
Basicaly for wide all sticks ,pots & switches are moved toward + numbers on screen - numbers for narrow. Dave.

Dear ajd999,

sorry replying so late unfortunatelly I was travelling..
i have just changed sd card to 1G - same story.
going via yours questions:
ad.5. Search for bytes '1F 77 93 D9' in a file: You should find three occurrences.
it looks like - 6202, 6282, 6482,
ad.6. Search for bytes '54 00 31 00 32 00 46 00 47'. You should find one occurrence.
it is: does not exist...
ad.7. Search for the first two non zero bytes in a file after location 0100. Their values should be 43 and 02.
first is on offset 200 and hex value is 23

Hi Peter,
It's simple!

- Insert your SD card into PC
- Format SD card (FAT, FAT32 ... don't care)
- Insert SD card into 12FG
- Turn-on 12FG and format SD card
- Write 1 model file into SD card (It's important to do)
- Insert SD card into PC again
- By Hex editor go to 200 hex address of TINYFS and write 23 hex
- goto 2200 hex and write 02 hex
- goto 6480 hex and write this byte sequence: 00 00 1F 77 93 D9 00 00 00 00 00 13 00 01 00 00
- search filename you written (search sequence 00 00 54 00 31 00 32 00 46 00 47 00 alias ..T.1.2.F.G)
- write from start address founded the ascii codes of string: "T12FG TEST(NORESET)" (without quotes and with one space between T12FG and TEST)
- Save into SD card
- Insert SD card into 12FG
- Turn-on 12FG and Have fun !!!

Bye!

I have done exactly according to your guideline and still cannot get into the service menu.
I attach below the screen shots for your reference. For below screen shots, I have modified the file in a 2GB card and have also done the modification in a 1GB card. The result was the same and cannot get into the service menu.

Thanks!
