Default Would you sel your MA heli for T rex 700

Yes, it's sound crazy but T rex 700 parts and kit seem to be so cheap that make me wanted to sell my Stratus. I bought a Stratus kit last month without canopy b/c MA don't have it stock and it's still on my shelf waiting for canopy. Once it's become available, it's gonna take me another month to send my canopy out for painting job. it's gonna cost a lot of money and time to get this bird in the air. is it worth for waiting?

Try Arizona Heli.
Bill keeps painted canopies in stock for the most popular helis.

http://www.arizonaheli.com/

Also Canopy FX keeps some canopies in stock.
http://www.canopyfx.net/

Couple of phone calls and credit card and you could have a canopy on the way.

Yip, right now Arizonaheli.com is where we are sending people to get canopies. I talked to MA today, and canopies should be available relatively soon, but no definitive date as of yet.

Hello,

sorry for your mistake with the canopy But as it is written, go to arizonaheli, the paintjob is very nice !

Just to answer to your question : NO.
For the moment, I will not sell my stratuses for a 700.
I haven't seen a 700 in flight yet but with the modifications I made on the rotor head, mines are very aggressives and I really don't need another bird !

The thing that MA as now to work on is the prices of spare part ... If someone hear me !!

Well I'm lucky enough to have both and there's no way I would change out my Stratus - my MA bird is a source of pride and pleasure the T700 is an everyday beater for practice - $$$ aside I would much prefer to crash my T700 anyday over my Strattie - that would be more traumatic than divorce !

I would, well at least I'd sell my Fury and keep the 700. One 90 is enough for me right now and the 700 wins right now on fun factor alone. Besides if I don't sell one my betterhalf wont let me built a new heli this winter and I really want that one to be one of the new MA birds! Our deal is I only get two have 3 helis at one time. Then next spring I'll sell one of the T-rexs and build an electric 500/600.

MA heli seem to be fun for high income people. I did not now the canopy would cost that much $170 above at Arizonaheli. T rex 700 seem to be a lot more fun for my pocket. I think I will scare flying my Stratus b/c of parts cost are too expensive.

Well in your first post you said you was going to send out the stock canopy for a paint job? How much do you think that was going to cost. A good estimate is that it would not be less than $100 to have it painted. Arizona Heli supplies the canopy, paint and labor for $170. So I would say that is a reasonable price.
As for the Trex 700, it seems to be a nice heli from watching it fly. From reading the Align forum, I am seeing crashes cost in the $400 plus range. Any 90 size heli is going to be expensive to crash. If your going to fly a 90 size heli, it is not inexpensive no matter which brand you fly.

I presume you mean, it's not inexpensive to crash no matter which brand you fly! LOL!

By all means if crashing is your thing then save the MA heli and get yourself a T700! I shudder at the thought of crashing an MA heli, just because they're such nice heli's not because of the cost of repair parts. (yes, I do tend to fall in love easily with my models I don't like to crash... so sue me!)

After carefully comparing my Trex 600N and Stratus. The quality and Engineer of Stratus is by far better. My Trex 600N looks like toy and looking cheap when next to Stratus. I guest I could afford $1200 for a kit then why not put a $170 canopy on it.

Thank you DAVIDH for posting Arizonaheli website.

A 700N can not be compared to a stratus im any way. Sure the 700 flies well but the stratus just has that certain fell that no other heli can replicate. It is smooth and instills confidence it the pilot. The stratus is a work of art.
Sure there is a place for the 700N with many people, just not me.
The stratus is the bench mark in design and engineering and no heli has come close yet and to think of selling a stratus for a 700N would just be ludacrist.

regards

Simple answer.
No I won't sell my Stratus.
I will still have mine when it's declared outdated.

I'm with Alfred, I just like my Fury so much! Maybe I would if I crash it REAL hard, but I don't think that'll ever happen.

Wow, i'm so glad i saw this threw because i have seriously been considering selling my stratus for a 700. I bought a stratus for 1,200 with nearly everything. GREAT PRICE!...right? well i can not get it to fly well. All the parts are terribly expensive, and with everything i'v replaced i would think the total cost has gone from around 1,200 to around 2,200. Its beginning to be ridiculous. I know this is one of the best flying .90's out there it just doesn't get along with me. Maybe the 700 will?

Slight drift, slight tail bob and wag. Very unpredictable. Iv already talked about it with a few people and iv been thinking. The cost and effort it would take to replace the remaining parts until it starts flying well, would be less than buying something like a 700 which is much simpler.
