Default Align 106 tail blades

Can anyone confirm that the hum is gone with the new align 106's?

Default Align 106 tail blades

For those with the hum, does it happen at 2050 rpm or only at higher headspeed? I have 2 700 V1s with upgraded 4.95 tail ratio "ones a nitro the other is a E conversion" and neither have the hum. One has cyclones tails the other has edge. The nitro is governed at 1950 and the E at 2050. Don't see any reason for more HS for my use

It's the tail rpm that I would look at. Getting much over 10k on the tail is where the tail becomes more prone to hum. Running over 10k doesn't automatically mean you will get a hum however.

At 2050 with the 4.95 ratio, your tail is at 10150RPM or so. At 1950, 9650

It was definitely the blades. When I swapped for some cyclones the hum was gone.

I run 1950 and 2100 on my 700L top. No hum at either headspeed with the cyclones.

Unfortunately those got destroyed last weekend. Got the two sets of the new 106's and they look good. The root is wider and has more surface area to have against the grips.

To align's credit, I had two pairs of 105's, and it was one pair specifically that that hummed REALLY badly. Both on my 700e and 700n.

That pair is all I had to use last weekend though. I wonder if they'd be fine on a heli of another brand.

I'm happy to report that the Align 106's do not hum.
