Ran 3 packs thru it after crashing yesterday afternoon. This is the first crash that wasn't pilot error. The tail blew out 5 feet above the ground and went in on its side. Crash costs were low. I didn't even break the main blades.

1. Spindle
2. Flybar
3. Main gear
4. Gears on the Aileron servo

That's it. I bumped up the gain from 71 to 73 and didn't notice any issues with it today. Anything higher than that I get the shakes.

Converted mine to Futaba with Savox servos, dug out the old GY401. Took about 4 hours. Egor threw the 6V switch. Been watching the wind pick up and the rain come down ever since........ Got a kite the other week down came the rain.......

The dxdi "flew" well though.....

Flew about 6 packs today, met with a guy named David that i met at a different field. He's really nice, he leant me 4 packs and let me fly his trex 450 pro and his trex 500 with beastx. Man thats awesome power (flies very smoo0th ) I did my first flips with my 450 and he even let me try them on his 450 trex. Very awesome. Next battery im going to do loops, rolls, and front flips. David said that he is confident in MY abilities. Sweeet!!

Test flew the Futaba/Savox upgrade, a turn on cyclic link here a turn off there and half a turn for the rudder!. Got kiked around in the breeze. Back home to recharge batteries, feed and water face, back out for more testing. Turned down cyclic in swash - used longer arms than original. A lot better!. Did 6 packs 2 in afternoon - drafty and 4 in evening.
Got to use my poundland bug repelent - finaly!. Don't you just hate smart bugs, applied the stuff to back of my hands then "rubbed in" upto wrist and watch strap, smart bug lands above watch strap for "tea" !. Dabbed on forehead ears back of neck after taking my hand of smart bug - having put on at speed!. did the last 2 mins of last battery and came home happy. Out again first thing tomorrow so rain and/or wind it is!.

Futaba 7C, R617FS, GY401. Savox SH0257mg cyclic, SH0262mg tail on 6V stock ESC.

Finished my dfc conversion. I'll post closeup pics when I get a chance.

Flies great!...Align dfc head, Skookum 540 fbl unit, Savox 262 on the tail, and stock cyclic servos for the next week or so.

Flew a whopping one minute, The winds are 15-20 with gusts to 25. I thought let's give it a try. Bad idea, a little to wild for me.

Flew 4 more packs with the 450, and flew the 300x for the first time..

I've been really happy with my 4503d, with the cx-3x1000 FBL.
But, my new 300x with the AR7200x flys better. . I'll have a beastx on the 450 by the end of the week. Then the only difference between my heli and a 450x will be the 440 motor..

went home and repaired the damage..went back to the oval..hovered.trimmed up and then took of..all was going good for about a minute then as i was low coming in and i clipped the ground with the skids..damage was..bent fly bar..one lost fly bar paddle..lost pitch servo control rod..wooden blades destroyed and a stripped elev servo..

all repaired ready for tommorow..hopefully it goes well..

Flew two packs at lunch. Was having soooo much fun I decided to ignore my timer on the second pack. Just put 1950 back into a 2200 pack (88%). Resting voltage was 3.67 so I don't think any damage was done (love these Turnigy nano-techs), but I won't make that mistake again.

As for flying, did my first sideways loop (tail in, right side up) that didn't look retarded, some tail-in and nose-in funnels, high speed sideways passes, and of course a million flips and rolls. This little bird and I are starting to see eye-to-eye. It's quite a pleasant feeling.

All the credit for my progress goes to hours on the sim and many more hours on the "real-world sim" (aka: brushless MCPX) before I tried any of it on a 450.

Didn't go out yesterday - uk bank holiday = wind+rain inbetween the rain+wind.

Went past my flying site this morning and saw that very nice man on a mower - so the wind dropped at 18:00ish got to field at 19:00ish. Bug repellent in pocket, had 3 packs in late evening got kicked around in the breeze, 20:00ish getting gloomy so 2 3/4 packs really, I've read the horror stories.

Finally got my Bladezyx flying, two crashes while trying to set everything up. Was way harder than i thought it was going to be. Today only charged one pack, figured the way the last two flight ended. Third time was the charm. Two turns to get blade tracking perfect. And it flies. Wow. So glad i stuck with the conversion. Nice hands off hover. Should have charged the rest of the packs. Oh well, came home with helicopter in one piece.
