This might be what you are after:
http://www.bocabearings.com/search.a...fSearchResults I've not finished my build yet, but it seems I may go the ceramic route while I'm still in the process. The link above has seven choices that should work. Not sure about the ones with rubber seals in heli applications, but they list the 'YS' rubber seal as a heli application bearing. Really adds to the build cost, but for the tail bearings at least I'm thinking it is well worth it. |

So I went to my LHS to look for the Associated Bearings but ended up with these Boca's for cheaper. Score!

Are those rubber seals? More drag that conventional seals?

Exploded in flight. That is what is left. If you hear a high pitch noise coming from your tail, that is probably it.

I don't know the specific model number but if you find a "flanged 4x8x3 ceramic bearing" should do the trick. The Team Assiciated ones has a metal seal, I guess the ones I got are rubber. This is my first "boca" bearing. I heard they are pretty good.

18t motor pulley
Does anyone know if the 18t motor pinion(pulley) is still unusable like reported due to it hitting the idle pulley?
thanks |

No idea, perhaps rushed. I hear it will be remedied soon, for anyone really needing that size.

With the prototype motor being higher kv (Jeff is running it @ 4000 on stock pinion!) I imagine no one even had a thought of putting the 18t motor pulley on

Keep an eye on your tr arm that connects to boom and that your tr lever pitch arm connects to. Inspect regularly for small fractures or cracks. It's not best plastic and can fail. IMO it should be metal of course as should tr pulley. Have fun.

Thanks Shawn.
Please keep an eye on this part folks. They're actually testing a few different new compounds for this, including a compound similar to what Mikado uses for their frames. They won't make it in CNC aluminum because production costs are too high due to the complexity of the part and the weight, I'm told. |

Re. plastics, I haven't owned a Logo for about 8 years or so but don't recall the plastic being anything special back then. If Compass wants to see what excellent plastics look like, go take a look at a cheap Hirobo kit. Their plastics will break in a crash (probably because it's quite rigid) but it's really an incredible product, at least the Evo I had a few years ago had great plastic parts. Precision molding, excellent finish quality, and VERY stiff. |
