Well see reading the bad stuff in the post by you maxmicrox I wouldn't even dare spend that money on a Novus CP. Plus the Walkera is cheaper in price and is probably the better buy.

I'm sure this has been said MANY time but get the one that you have the local support for in parts. Trust me, driving to get parts is much better on your patience than waiting on UPS!

I thought walkera's and novus cp's use the same parts for the most part?

I understand the Novus now uses the newer 4G3V2 parts, the first Novus CP used the older 4G3V1 parts when Walkera had moved on to the V2. Now as far as I know the only difference is the Walkera now comes with brushless motors - and of course there is the price.

Well I haven't been to the lhs in a few weeks(surprising haha) but its only about 3 minutes driving distance and they stock tons of 4G3 stuff. Not sure about the CP because I haven't been there in a few weeks but still.

Even with V2 parts, the Novus CP is still way behind the Walkera 4G3 because the Walkera double brushless 4g3 came out this week. I think Heli-max is stuck with a ton of Novus CP (the old Walkera 4g3 helis and parts) and will always play second fiddle to the more current Walkeras branded helis.

The Novus CP V1,V2, and the Walkera 4G3 new or old all share the same parts. Just watch out and avoid old parts even if they are compatible (Old Novus Rx on certain models and the brush motors) because using them will downgrade your new Walkera to an old Novus CP.

BTW, you should get your Walkera 4G3 in the US, the last thing you want to do is to deal with some store in Asia. Lets just say I had my share of frustrations dealing with these distant suppliers. Deffective that takes 2 weeks to replace, missing parts from the box, upgrades that doesn't work, the language barrier, the time zone difference all adds up to bad spotty service. Even the legitimate Hong Kong (chinesejade, helipal) or Chinese (hobby-wing) dealers are not up to par with US based dealers (helidirect, clubheli, wowhobbies, rotorfever).

Some times I also use LHS when I need things right away and don't mind paying a little more - just don't let a salesman talk you into a NOVUS CP. Pure and simple, get your butt to another LHS that has good Walkeras 4G3 helis with the bl motors. No body wants to do extra work maintaining a NOVUS CP when they can be out flying.

OK. You keep saying that the Walkera 4G3 is better which I openly agree. My local hobby shop sells the Novus CP and only the Novuses not the Walkeras. What should I do.

If you are looking to buy a Walkera, you should consider the "big 3" US based vendors to buy from. Just in case you have any issues, returns will be the easiest. Check out (in alphabetical order) ClubHeli.com, RCHobbyHelicopter.com, and WowHobbies.com
