Default ZYX S2

I tried to set up this for my friend today but there is no place in the setup program where I can set the piro opti or change the direction for the gyro compensation. I use the software 1.1 for ZYX S2. Is this the incorrect software to use or what is the problem?

I dont think there is any piro compensation in the ZYX-S2. As far as direction compensation, there is not a direct reverse compensation like in the ZYX-S. You have to use the servo reverse checkboxes on the servo tab. But this means you have to mount the gyro in one of the selectable orientations (ie mounting upside down is not one, but I have heard of people getting upside down to work by using odd settings)
If you get the monitor screen to move in the correct directions (using tx reversing), and have a correct mounting, you should be able to get the correct direction compensation by using the checkboxes on the servo tab .

I'm getting in on this late, but if your are having a problem with roll and pitch (nose up/down) compensation you need to swap the channel 1 and channel 2 servos at the S2. I know this does not make sense, but this is exactly what I had to do when I "upgraded" from an S to an S2.

Why Tarot left Reverse Compensation Direction out of the S2 software is a real mystery...

If you mount the gyro exactly as shown on the schematic and you connect the servos as shown on the swash type .... why would you need to be able to reverse the compensation direction? The system is fully defined if set up as shown in the instructions ...... surely piro compensation will work appropriately. Now on my ZYX-S it was comforting to be able to set the piro direction and actually "see" the system in operation during setup. My question is .... how can you confirm operation 'in service'? Let's face it compensation is not so good that the hell will piro on the spot, so the fact that the hell sets off in one direction during a slow piro is nether proof of operation, but similarly it doesn't prove that the system doesn't work either!!

FWIW, the S and S2 are entirely different animals, and so is their supporting software.

The fact of the matter is, with the S version you have the ability to make things right through the software, and in the S2 version you don't.
