Default YGE 160hv 16s set up

Hi guys

I just got my second 160 16s esc back from YGE after a 2 month debacle. This one is new. I followed all the instructions and processes for the first time set up of this controller and on first spool up it popped and shot fire out of the front while on the bench. Good news is they replaced it.

My set up is on the 800 extreme with the Ikon, scorpion 4540-400 and a 16T with TP 5000 packs. Also I'm using the program card 3

Is anyone willing to list a step by step process for setting up this controller from first power up to fisrt spol up?

Two months and over $107.00 in shipping costs has me Very cautious this second time around.

I'd test it out on a less serious motor first and maybe not attached to heli. I'm also super cautious at times but somehow it doesn't always help. Hopefully this one goes well for you.

Edit: scratch that. Keep attached to heli. Unless you have a test rig, the heli is the best place to have motor if you are going to power it up! I was referring to ESC but might as well have it installed too.

I'm sure this is any harder then any of the other 5 Helis I've built up. I'm just so gunshy now after smoking the first esc. I'm ready the operating instructions over and over they just don't seem very clear to me.

especially since the program card only goes to 15s. Have you figured that one out yet?

Anyone else know how to set the ESC to 16S? (yes, this one and the smoked one were preordered modded for 16S...but, the card only goes to 15)

Its 5:30pm in Germany... Small chance you could receive a reply in an hour or so. If not, yge is usually good about responding quickly.

Have you tried Pete at elektrorc?

I don't have right here at the moment but look on the elektrorc web site. That's where I got it from. Also you can email Pete at elektrorc. He's very helpful and will actually reply to you.

I have been following this thread. Great to see it's up and running. More so keep checking those connector temps by hand. If they get too hot to touch by hand. Question the solder joint. You will like it at all head speeds. I have govern to 1580, 1640 and 1780. With the hang time at any of these speeds, it just blows me away on how easy this machine handles. I am also really liking the Vbar after running it through the optimizers both for the tail and head.

Enjoy man !
