Default Pyro 600 rewind/tuning

Here a Pyro 600-12 rewind. The 600 sries is actually hand wound by kontronik and the fill is really very good already. I was wondering if I could improve this at all, but rewind was needed anyway because the wire was damaged in a few places. this is the motor I'm talking about:

The stator is a 3225 in Scorpion terminology.
The rotor has 10 poles.

Before:
Kv: 1246rpm/V (YGE 18deg)
R: 11mOhm
# Turns: 7
Termination: Delta
Mono wire: 1.18mm
Copper surface: 7.66mm^2
Mass: 220gr (without connectors)

This is the stock wind, front:

Back:

I also measured the open delta waveform, which gives an indication if there will be a gain going to YY termination. There is something going on here, but not nearly as much as I have seen with other motors. So YY will be nice if I can get it to fit with more copper too:

Then I did exactly the same wind again with same wire diameter:

I was able to put in an extra turn and terminate in YY for the same Kv, so there is room for improvement after all:

After:
Kv: 1234rpm/V (YGE 18deg)
R: 9mOhm
Termination: YY
# Turns: 8
Mono wire: 1.18mm
Copper surface: 8.75mm^2 (+14%)
Mass: 224gr (without connectors)

So stator wise this motor is similar to the scorpion 3226, would that mean the scorpion would also be suitable for up to 550mm blades? Or is the pyro still superior? or would a rewound scorpion match up to the pyro?

3226 is a real powerhouse, plus bearings last a long time, compared to the older 3026. Done one with 4+3 YY and KV was at 1435 YGE 18deg, logged 3.8 KW from it so I am sure there are better motors for a 550, but it should swing 500mm easily.

Don't have a Pyro600 to compare it with, sorry.

yeah I would think the scorpion should be up there with the pyro 600, it just seemed strange to me that the scorpion is considered to be for 425~450mm. But I am tempted to try it on the E6-550 which runs 510mm blades.

Don't know about the Scorp, but this is the info & feedback I got for the rewound Pyro 600:

It is installed in a Logo550SX for a lightweight setup.
Esc: YGE 120LV
Blades: 520mm
Fying weight a little over 3kg.

Feedback (I just translate from dutch):
Headspeed is the same. Heli feels more powerful. Motor runs cooler than before and esc a little warmer. YGE seems to be more comfortable, no dips in rpm anymore.
Strange thing: when I fly with higher headspeed the esc and motor run cooler. Positive aggression!
Setup now invites to fly more aggressively.

Not so strange, yge's partial load isn't as great as they say

Great work!

Is 9 turns YY yielding the 1060 kV or 8? A bit confused by the "after" specs. Does the amp and power rating apply to the 8 turns or 9?

I am interested in doing a similar wind on a Pyro 600.

Sorry about that, it is corrected now.

Great thanks, thats Pyro 700 Comp power levels out of a 600. Would be interesting to put it in a 600 class heli like a logo 600SX, i'm sure it would be a real blast with such light weight.
