Welcome to the addiction! You are not the first and won't be the last to buy a backup model. I also have 2 genius cp helis, for the reason you stated and also in case I need to order parts for one I still have one to fly. I have quite a stock of spare parts for them too!
Have fun! That is what it is all about after all...

I also have many spare parts, and everything twice or more. The important thing to have in stock are tail booms, blades and the helicopter frame itself. For example, I never had a faulty servo or main board.

I switched to the KBDD blades and have only broken one set in the last 6 months. Much more durable than the stock ones.

I also used the kbdd blades but imo the stock ones fly better (with the stock setup), they are thinner and lighter. The tail kbdd blade is a keeper because the tail holds better and the visibility is perfect (neon orange).
Actually, the stock ones are more flexible and durable imo than the kbdd blades. The kbdd blades break if you fold them. They are obviously not meant to fold but it is true. The reason I replace my main blades frome time to time is not because they break but they are damaged by hitting objects or are not formed properly (the leading edge is damaged) causing tracking ploblems.
