Considering I paid for the thing in the beginning of Dec.....it took almost 3 months to be sent and since then it has continued to give me error messages....I've had to re-swing the compass over 3 times and now its back in B.C. It will be out of warranty before I ever get to use it. Now they are updating the 720. What next?
I did get that "GPS Watchdog reset" message when I was first setting mine up and having issues getting the compass swing completed. It popped up only for a quick moment, and I was thinking I just imagined it since it doesn't make any sense, nor is there any mention of any message like that anywhere in the documentation.. I haven't had any issues with my unit though.

Actually the heli (trex 450) is flying very nice without the GPS......no vibrations and no worries about the GPS......I really like the Skookum 720 and the GPS should make it just that much better.......really windy here but I was able to fly in 20+k winds no problem...and that's with a Contour 1080 strapped to the outside of the heli...but I think I would have felt better knowing the GPS was there and ready to save my (accident Prone) heli.

Hi guys,

My SK GPS arrives monday.

This gps unit is going on an AP ship. So basically I have no intentions to try its soft or harddeck features at all.

What I want is to be able to altitude hold (helps very much in AP), sometimes be able to position hold (in high altitudes to help) and lastly RTH in case of signal loss, therefore as a saver.

Now I can see how altitude and position hold are setup and in fact they are good but I want to ask a question about RTH.

From the videos I watched, RTH acts aggresively, up to a point where I would say acts so violently that I would never stress a loaded AP ship myself.

Is there a way to smoothen out the "tail in" behaviour first then the returning home backwards flight ?

Second question is, when RTH is engaged heli ascends then tracks to the home location then goes descends.

Is there a way to set how much the heli will ascent before starting to track to the home position ?

Lastly, can we use RTH as a failsafe option ? For my preferences I want to be able to use altitude hold, position hold and RTH. So I actually might need 3 banks while the GPS only offers 2 banks now.
Is there any way to failsafe RTH just like a wkm-m or ace one ?

Any tips for AP ?

Cheers.
