Maidened her today. Was it all I hoped for?

Super stable, easy to fly. I forgot to dial in some expo and was twitchy but suprisingly manageable.. Landed put in 30 expo. Great.
I was very nervous. I did three 4 min flights to get used to it and just flew around ,piros and orientation exercises. Battery packs still had 67% left in them after 4 min, 5000mAh nanotech packs 17 tooth pinion helijive at 75 throttle.

Default Congratulations.

I've got 3x bls252 in transit, last bits missing is a 251, V-bar and Jive.
So, still some time to go...

Have fun!

Thanks Your going to love it. Worth the wait. Every bit of the experience has been good. Getting the bits, waiting for the kit, the build and now the flying. Also the support you get from Gerd is great.
The minicopter site has now got the parts online so it will be easier to order stuff when needed.

That's great Satnam - now you've done the build thread - next up a flight video - I've got mine back in the air at last and loving every minute of it - it flies really well - now doing some data logging which I'll put up as soon as I get some comprehensive results.

Got the nerve up to flip, roll, loop and hover inverted the bird at around 1700 rpm today. Fantastic. Rolls very axial and loops no drama at all, Should build confidence now. I love to just fly it about it is so smooth and relaxing.
Going to get rid of the fly bar on the 500 and ordered the DFC head for it. I have a 3GX lying in the draw and will try it again. Will use this to practice more advanced stuff, progress to the 600 and then who knows

Really, my flying is not much to look at!!

I love it, and enjoy it though. I'll get some pics of it in the air.

Well it finaly happened after 45 flights. The V Bar sensor wire came lose and CRASH.
What a stupid way to crash.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if the bearings that sit in the tail rotor housing, the ones that the tail rotor shaft go through, are available separately. They are listed as 058 in the manual, but are not in the spares shop, 058 lists a conic swash spacer instead. I was hoping not to have to buy the whole tail rotor housing just for one broken bearing.!!!
Time to order a hot glue gun!! amongst the rest.

Just one other thing, about the hot glue. Once it is used to secure the connectors in place can it be removed if I need to?

About the hot glue: I use shoegoo for securing servo wires & plugs. That comes right off with no residue.

About the bearing: yes they can be ordered separately as a guy in a German forum received new ones just last week. However he phoned minicopter. Not sure if the bearings are in the shop separately.

Hot glue comes off easily and less mess than shoe goo

Just called Gerd and he has changed the manual to reflect the correct part number 068.
Well it will be raining all week anyway so its a good week to be down, if I had a choice.

I use double sided tape and bent it at 90 deg to secure connectors

Hot glue works great as long as you don't let it heat up too much before you apply it. If it gets too runny it will be a pain to remove it later.

Double side tape across the top of the connectors would probably be good enough. I can't imagine all the servo plugs coming out together.
