Default mcpx bl first flight

Have been flying and enjoying the mcpx ver1 with my dx6 g2. I had bought a new mcpx brushless last year and took it for its first flight this last weekend.. Two batteries and managed not to crash. Need some suggestions for calming the wildly twitching tail rotor. I have seen somewhere about gyro setting, but do not know how to go about set-up. I see that HH makes the extended tail for the bl. Any help appreciated.

Quickest way to change tail behavior is change rotor. 42mm Lynx?
Both of mine oscillate slightly sometimes at hover but I don't notice it while flying.

I agree with both suggestions...thru My own experience with nearly 3 dozen models of the mCPX BL...

Larger tail rotor will calm the tail...the 42mm is better than the stock
The 47mm is better yet, but will cause additional motor heat

My solution has been to extend the tail, and use a tail motor heat-sink style mount with the 47mm tail rotor

If it continues to wag slightly, it's nothing more than a message...

"Hey Pilot...I'm designed to FLY...if you want to hover, buy a coaxial"

All you need to do is decrease the DR on the rudder channel just a bit.

Cut the Rudder DR back to 80 and give it 10 Expo and fly the helicopter. Then increase the expo in increments of 5 until the rudder feels good to you.

You don't want to cut it back much, just soften it around center stick or you will find pushing the tail around in bank or stall turns requires more than comfortable rudder input.

This should fix you right up

Yes you can adjust the tail gyro gain on BL but in this case there is no need.

But if you want to use this function. In the DX6i Gyro menu. Gear switch select SW-F.mode
and set the rate around 70% in all flight modes. The gyro does not function in rate mode bellow 50% it defaults to factory settings.
