Unhappy MCPX BL - Receiver "shutting down" ?!?

Hi,

I have a strange problem on my mCPX BL that came right out of nowhere!

When i fly it, it works for maybe 10-20 seconds, after that, I seems that i lose the radio link to it, the motor keeps going - but i can't control it (cutting throttle or any other input doesn't work).

Anyone who know what this could be, and is it repairable, or is replacing the 3-in-1 until the only solution to this? :'(

If you're in the US or can ship here cheaply I'd send that 3n1 board to Rudy at megasmicros.com. I don't think your problem is going to be something you can fix. Does it do this with all your lipos?

Yes, It does it it with all lipos i tried it with. It was a good point, because i had similar problems earlier with my old brushed mCPX, and that was power/battery problem.

George has the best advice, and that is send it to Rudy.

I have never heard of this problem before.
Could you let us know what Rudy finds after he gets it fixed?

Are you sure the batteries are fully charged? I'm pretty sure I saw this happen once when I tried to fly on a battery I'd forgotten to charge.

Is the blue light blinking when this happens? AFAIK, if the blue light is steady, the radio link is OK.

Hi gain, and thanks for all reply's, the christmas and new year and everythink else came in between med and this thread....

The blue light turns off, when i loose controls over the copter. I have tread with several fully charged batteries. I tried it a last time now a couple of minutes ago, and this time i first did the same things lake written above. Efter that, I reconnected battery and tried again, and now the tail motor is dead (and it's brand new, I replaced it and it worked fore ONE battery right before this problem started), but i have control over main motor and servos, I can keep i going without any "shut down", steady blue light all the time.

I think I already got the best advice by sending it to Rudy, however, I'm more into FPV stuff right now, and don't feel like spending more money on the mCPx's now, so I'm thinking about selling all i have left. If any one is interested in buying a fried mCPx BL, a working mcps v2, some optionsparts and 4-5 gens ace 300mah flown once, feel free to send me a PM.

check for power at the board battery connection. sounds like you got frayed cables that can't deliver enough current to the circuit.
