yea, gonna pick up a couple frames too, I like this bird with frame, and want to keep it flying as long as possible. It's a bit more forgiving than my X3

Question 450 3D?

Does anyone know if this frame will work with the 3D?

I think I answered my own question. I looked up the part number for the 3D and X. The number is the same. Man $63 instead of $13? I would sure hope it holds up.

Sure does... Ask me how I know...

Even the thinner one is good! I have the thicker plates, but I haven't had to use them yet...

Luca just told me himself in a thread I started about it that the frame would be available Aug 15. But, who knows with all the previous dates that were also given out.

I sent them an email asking for 450X -parts.

Quote:
Hi Lynx

I've been trying to find some spares for my Blade 450X (it's a Lynx 450X now!) and lot of parts are out of stock for a long time. Will you be restocking 450X -parts or have you stopped production for good on this heli?
Quote:
Hi Ronald,

The parts that are out of stock in 450X category will be discontinued later.

Kind regards,
Gwen
I really miss having Lynx parts, and going back to stock is not an option.

Great. Per his post that I linked above, the 450X frame is supposed to be back in stock on Aug 15. If it comes up discontinued, then Luca flat out LIED to us.

I think you guys are misinterpreting this....

At the moment the parts are out of stock....
450x parts are not discontinued now

which I believe answers the original question

But, that's not what they said. They said the parts will be discontinued later. That very much implies finality and probably sooner, rather than later.

Okay, so they're not in stock. But, they will be discontinued later. What's the difference, especially without any info on replenishment in the mean time other than putting out fluff dates that come and go with no new stock? Lynx dropping the price significantly is pretty indicative of something being discontinued, as well.

Then he needs to quit putting out dates that mean nothing. These frames have been out of stock for many months, now, going back to the beginning of the year when I first asked about it and was told "soon". Yeah, right...

Definitely going to be some unhappy souls if it does get discontinued...
It would be a shame to go back to a plastic frame I guess.
What are you after, a complete frame or frame parts? or just lynx 450x parts in general?

Are 450x discontinued by HH?....

Yes, the 450X has been discontinued for a while now since the 360CFX came out. Horizon may still have some old stock to sell off but, trust me, there is no more new production of complete 450X helis. Just parts...for now...

I want at least one more complete Lynx frame, especially at the significantly reduced price listed on the Lynx website right now. I'm not piecing a frame together because it would be way more expensive. I'll curb stomp my 450X (have a great X3 anyways) before ever going back to the stock plastic frame with that Rube Goldberg contraption of an elevator setup and wonky uneven servo geometry overall. It was like night and day going to the Lynx frame with the added stiffness and much crisper response with no "mush".

It could be a "lost in translation" by Gwen. Just find her short answer very awkward to a simple question about parts coming back in or being stopped for good. If parts were planned to be restocked she would have known and could have told so in the email?

I'm considering moving the electronics on my 450X to a new project. Parts availability will become an issue for me.

Anyone with the Lynx -setup considering moving to MicroHeli's frame and parts?

I have a MH frame. It is good except for servo room is restrictive.... I got tgy-306's in mine, but it took a lot of work shimming the servo's, and still they are a very tight fit.

Not me. I've read it's very fussy about servo fit and my Hited 5065mgs won't fit without modification. I'll ditch the heli before messing with it like that.
