Default 600mm Hirobo blade failure

One of my rotor blades delaminated in flight today on my trex 600. Got it back on the ground fairly safely, but there was a definite pucker factor of 9.5. What would cause a failure like this? They are older Hirobo 600mm fiberglass balsa cored blades. They seemed in perfect shape. There was a loud slapping sound. sounded like a machine gun with a really high rate of fire. lol

Well ask yourself, is it worth the risk to you or your heli? Im sure you can pick up a good set on the fs forum cheap.

yeah already have radix blades on order 10 minutes after it happened. lol. well theres one vote for "bad idea". I looked up the hirobo blades and they are $120+ bought this heli used, and it came with them. guess price doesnt = quality

Could have been a defect.

Definitely don't repair them. Very bad idea.

does sound like a bad idea now that i think about it, and why bother anyway? Do Hirobo blades have a history? i mean they were so easy to track, and and seemed like very high quality blades.

I would just say wear and tear wood expansion contraction. wood is never fully stable and it expands and contracts unless fully sealed by wax or epoxy.
