Default 8FG and GV-1

I have been trying to set up a gv-1 Gonernor with my new radio (8fg). The 8fg governor menu has two units available. % and rpm. When using the rpm display on the radio I can't get the rpm on the radio to match the rpm that is displyed on the gv-1. All the problems I have had so far in this hobby I have found an answer just searching Helifreak, but I have had no luck with this problem. I am new to both the 8FG and the GV-1. One other thing that is confusing is that when switching speeds, the S1-S2-S3 displayed on the GV-1 stays the same when switching conditions. ex. When switching between idle-up one and idle up two the rpm changes but the "s" reads s2 with both conditions.
Thanks for any help. -Brad

I had the same issue.
you just need to add a lot of subtrim (I do mean allot)
on the govner page in you radio set the RPM to 2000
and then enter the subtrim page.. while looking at the gov adjust subtrim until it shows 2000 and you are done

Hi,

What worked for me was to setup rpm the gv-1 using the rpm menu item and I made it match the setting in my 8fg radio gov rpm setting (set up a desired rpm ion the radio first). Once I did this then anytime I change my rpm in my radio it changes the gv-1 rpm settings perfectly. I did not need to add any sub-trim by doing it this way. you are basically synching the rpm of the gv-1 with the radio settings and then you adjust from the radio there on out.

Thanks,

Tom
