Are you saying that the change of landing gear forced your CG off so much that it became un-flyable ? ....

Somehow I think there was some other reason this plane crashed ... And my hunch usually goes to pilot error

But gee, that was a cool plane..

Mine is still flying also. Although, last time I took it out I had two deadstick landings because of LVC on my ESC. My lipo was fully charged both times. First flight it lasted 1 minute, second flight it lasted 6.5 minutes. Don't think I'll be using that pack anymore. Good part was that there was still enough juice to get the gear down and I set her down with zero damage.

Yeah, landings can be a little tricky especially if there's a crosswind. With that V-tail, the plane tends to yaw a bit in a cross.

Fun stuff though!

Yep, I put retracts on there and setup the nosewheel steering according to the manual. I was careful to try to get straight as shot possible for the cable though because it does work the servo. I also disabled the nosewheel servo in my radio (DX7) when the wheel is up so it's not sitting there grinding away while I'm flying and using the rudder. It seems to steer ok. As time has gone on though, I've noticed that the nose wheel takes longer than the mains to retract. All three used to take about the same amount of time. It's never failed to go up or down though.
