Default Fury Extreme Servo Choice

Hey guys and gals,

I know this topic has probably been beat to death but here goes. I have a Fury Extreme on the way and I'm needing good cyclic servo's. I have it down to 3 choices. Could people please give me their experiences with the following servos. Including why it would be the better servo and if they show signs of slop.

9351's

9252's

9451's

Any help would be greatly appreciated. YES I want to stick with Futaba servos.

Andrew

9351's would be my choice if money was not an issue. Metal geared unlike the 9252's and have more torque.

Hi

I have just converted my Extreme to a Stratus.
I also díd changed my 9252 (on 5.8V) to 9451 (6V)....

I really like thoese 9451 :-)
Nice price to.....(Towerhobbies has them on sale if buy two)
A lot of the MA pilots uses 9451 servoes.....(look on Eric Larson´s and Bert Krammerer homepages)

What about 9255? I use those with great results.
I'm thinking to try 9451 in my new heli but I'm not sure if will perform be better.

9255 seems to be a better choice nowadays for helis when compared to 9252 because they center better. The only objection I have to 9451 is that they have a pretty big dead band area and their centering is not so good. I have been switching slowly to 9351 as in my opinion they are the best heli servos Futaba makes, they are metal gears and their centering is very precise. Also, they have lots of torque at 6v!

Hi Bert,

Can you feel the speed differents between the 9451 and 9351?
On paper the 9451 is faster then the 9351....

PS: Is the sercocable longer on the 9351 then the 9451?

I cannot feel the speed difference. However, I can definitely feel more collective/cyclic authority with the 9351 servos. I can only assume that it is due to the increased torque. They have almost twice the torque as the 9451, which helps quite a bit, especially on big 90 size machines. Their centering is also superb.
